POGO's @schwellenbach told @washingtonpost that @DHSOIG delay in reporting the problem lowers the odds of retrieving data that wasn’t properly backed up or archived. Digital forensics experts could have been working to recover these lost texts for months. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
This is not the first time @DHSOIG Cuffari has slow-walked taking critical actions during time-sensitive reviews: He let a report filled with disturbing findings regarding sexual misconduct @DHSgov languish for over a year without publicizing its findings. pogo.org/investigation/…
And @POGOwatchdog previously reported Cuffari’s reluctance to have his career staff interview key officials in a review examining what senior officials knew about @CBP employee participation in a #Facebook group rife with racist and sexist messages. pogo.org/investigation/…
In fact, this isn't even the first time Cuffari has stalled on @SecretService related matters: @POGO revealed that he rejected career staff proposals to review the agency's involvement in the violent dispersal of anti-racism protestors in Lafayette Square. pogo.org/investigation/…
Cuffari also chose not pursue a proposal by @DHSOIG staff to examine @SecretService COVID protocols at a time when then-President Trump was criticized for putting Secret Service agents at risk because he would not wear masks in close quarters before a vaccine was available.

BREAKING: It appears that @OfficeGovEthics hasn't been able to certify Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's annual financial report. (They got it back in July.) They can't tell @POGOwatchdog why, but we have some theories...
Theory #1: DeJoy missed the January 10, 2022 deadline to provide OGE with the info they need to certify his report, so they're declining to do so. (Keep in mind, they've had the report since July). oge.gov/Web/oge.nsf/Le…
Theory #2: OGE is still waiting on info from DeJoy, but may certify his report if and when they get it. (Seems plausible.)
