1./ Is Owen Jones lying about monkeypox? 7 weeks ago he laughed as @ALLIANCELGB had a post taken down warning monkeypox affected gay men disproportionately. Today, he complains monkeypox advice doesn't emphasise the threat to gay men enough. Are Owen's little pants on fire?
2./ Maybe health experts were reluctant to emphasise the link between gay men and monkeypox because Owen and his buddies denounced anyone like LGB Alliance who made the link? @benjamincohen said it was a vile trope. A certain Owen Jones called it medical disinformation.👇
3./ Owen now tries to blame government homophobia for the spread. Really? Did the organisers of Pride follow @UKHSA govt advice and warn no one should attend if they had monkeypox symptoms? No. In fact they didn't once mention the virus. Neither did @SadiqKhan at the time.
4./ @PeterTatchell claimed sex venues shouldn't be closed because they could distribute information. This may surprise the biggest gay sauna in London which still hasn't a single reference to the virus on its website. "Come inside" it says. I'd rather not. pleasuredrome.com
5./ Monkeypox embodies the problem with our self-appointed gay spokesmen. Everything is always the fault of non-existent homophobia and no lie is too barefaced for them to tell. I sometimes wonder how they got used to telling so many totally ridiculous lies.🤔 #TWAW

1./ I'm neither a Scottish nationalist nor an @AlbaParty supporter but respect to @JNHanvey and @eastlothianmp for causing a 'stramash' in the House of Commons. Parliament must have space for passion and protest. What they did was also peanuts compared to protests in the past. 👉
2./ The mace has been manhandled on various occasions, not least by Lord Heseltine. You'd think since @theSNP constantly moan about "Westmonster" their 45 MPs would create more fuss than Alba's 2. But maybe they love London life more than they let on? inews.co.uk/news/politics/…
3./ The SNP has 45 MPs...and yet when was the last time they did anything notable or useful with their 45MPs. Other than overlook -or enable- sexual harassment that is. The SNP (with a few notable exceptions) increasingly resemble the pigs in Animal Farm. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/…
1./ Welcome to the world of the Health Hypocrites. When the official investigation into the monkeypox failure is held I hope Benjamin Cohen, Patrick Harvie and London Pride are dragged in to explain their utter irresponsibility. Cases are now doubling every 15 days. 👇👇
2./ The LGBTQ lobby did next to nothing to stop the spread of the virus. Now they blame the NHS and govt for not sorting out a massive public health response. But here’s the thing. We all know the NHS is in crisis. You can barely get a GP appointment. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…
3./ It is precisely because public health responses are often inadequate - especially as a COVID pandemic still rages- that communities need to do their utmost to prevent the spread of any new diseases that affect them disproportionately.
1. What has @ALLIANCELGB done for lesbians and gays? It’s so inspiring to see gay people standing up for the only UK charity that focuses exclusively on the rights of the same sex attracted. Here’s my own personal choice of things that @ALLIANCELGB has done for us.
2./ For a start, LGB Alliance lobbies on gay people’s behalf at all levels of society and government. It’s been consulted on proposed legislation by Parliamentarians like @MinFreerHMG and @ShonaRobison and nowhere has been beyond our reach. 😏👇
3./ We’ve organised massive national events that attempt to shift the debate around same-sex rights and we do it respectfully. By bringing thought leaders and opinion-formers together we hope to find imaginative ways round the current impasse on gender v sex.
1./ Is "trans conversion therapy" a myth? I only ask because recent UK news coverage is struggling to find a single example. Take this story by the illiterati at Pink News. After last week's huge rally all they could come up with was a story about a lesbian, from the 1970s.🤦♂️
2./ Yep, shock horror, in 1975 a Catholic priest tried to convert a lesbian in Ireland. All very creepy but the idea *that* has anything to do with life in the UK now is ridiculous. And least of all anything to do with the campaign to ban TRANS conversion therapy here.
3./ PN's accompanying photograph of a protest in Whitehall, where this week's ban trans conversion therapy rally was held, is clearly an attempt to associate the two stories. But even that's not quite as deceptive as the last news story on the subject.👇
1./ What are the scientific arguments for and against closing down sex venues due to monkeypox? First an update. The UK now has 1235 confirmed cases of monkeypox. A week ago it was 910. More than 99% of the cases are men; the majority gay or bisexual. gov.uk/government/pub…
2./@UKHSA: "Cases of monkeypox infection were confirmed in England from 6 May 2022. The outbreak has mainly been in gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men without documented history of travel to endemic countries".
3./ This exponential rise in cases is likely to slow through vaccinations and changes in behaviour as awareness rises. But as with any virus behaving in unexpected ways this can not be guaranteed. Especially if the virus is evolving faster than predicted. independent.co.uk/news/health/mo…
1./ The biggest problem gay people have in the UK today is the idiocy of those who claim to speak in our name. An example: Lloyd Russel-Moyle MP suggesting teenagers should be taught in school safe ways to do risky sex acts such as auto-asphyxiation. How would that even work?👇
2./ @MForstater is absolutely right (as ever). No teacher could give such advice. Maybe he expects it to be given by one of the fruitloopy groups currently dispensing gender garbage to kids like the "fact" sex doesn't exist. That'd be a groomer's charter.
3./ Russel-Moyle's comments are shocking but maybe we shouldn't be so surprised. Many of those, like him, who are most stridently in support of Gender Self-ID, have recently revealed their true views. Who could forget Crispin Blunt defending a convicted paedophile? Twice.
