Deku is an equine rehabber/trainer working mostly with troubled horses. After a video of him working w/ one a prized racehorse goes viral his workload triples & he finds himself swamped. So when Katsuki shows up at his ranch, demanding help, Izuku’s first thought is to say no.
…………………
Katsuki watched Lord, his World Champion Barrel Horse, frantically bucking in the corral with worry. His 2 time World Champion who had never had any issues was currently throwing himself around the pen trying to tear his saddle off.
“You should really give that trainer I told you about a chance,” Kirishima urged as he watched the unnerving display unfold. Neither of them had ever seen the stallion so much as spook let alone freak out as much as he was.
“I don’t believe in that horse whispering crap,” Katsuki said through grit teeth. He hated to admit it but he was seriously considering Shitty Hair’s suggestion. He had raised Lord Explosion from a 2 yr old and did all his ground work and training.
When this issue first arose he had tried to work on it himself but after a month with no improvement, in fact it just got worse, he reached out to a world renowned trainer for help.
Thousands of dollars later the trainer had returned Lord even worse and he was beyond help. The trainer told him he should turn him into a breeding stallion and get a new barrel horse. However, Katsuki didn’t believe that nor was he ready to give up.
Four trainers later here he was with an explosive horse who freaked out over so many minor things and saddling was a fight.
“Seriously man, just think about it. I’m telling you this dude knows what he’s doing. Remember Riot and I had all those troubles 6 months ago and I took him to this guy. He helped both me and Riot and now look at us. We are doing better than ever,” Kirishima implored.
Katsuki did have to admit Shitty Hair and his horse where doing a lot better since he had see the horse “whisperer”, but Katsuki never found these horse “whisperers” to be anything other than a scam.
Most of them didn’t even know how to do the most basic stuff and there was no way in hell was he going to let one of them touch his prized horse.
“I’ll look into it now, come on help me catch him so we can get that saddle off and get him back into the stall,” Katsuki groaned.
……………………
Izuku felt utterly dead. He was beyond exhausted since that video of him working with Crematory went viral online and his workload increased tenfold. He’d gone from working with 1 horse a day with maybe 10 client horses a month to having his barn and pastures full of horses.
He was waking up earlier than he ever had and going to bed way later.
Izuku had tried to tell his boyfriend, Dabi, that he was booking too many horses and that telling people there horse would be ready to go home in x amount of days was unreasonable because each horse was different.
However Dabi just brushed him off saying that Izuku’s family was too far behind and he needed to treat his work like a business which is something he had never wanted to do. His whole life all he had wanted was to help horses.
One time he had told Dabi that he needed to stop booking so many horses & was met with Dabi screaming at him that he would do what he said if he didn’t want to lose his family farm and a slap across his face.
Dabi repeatedly apologized and said it wouldn’t happen again but after it happened a few more times and got increasingly harsher Izuku gave up trying to tell him and just settled for being overwhelmed all the time.
Lucky for him Dabi’s brother, Shoto Todoroki, was one of his best friends and would come over every morning to help with feeding and mucking stalls but he couldn’t stay all day he himself had to help out on his dad’s ranch though he was always telling Izuku that he couldn’t wait
to take over it and finally treat the horses the way they deserved. It was well known that Enji Todoroki had a short fuse when it came to anything including horses and he used some truly barbaric training practices.

Izuku woke up to his phone buzzing under his pillow. He rubbed his eyes and gently rolled out of bed careful not to wake Dabi. When this first started he had set an alarm to wake himself up but quickly learned that wake Dabi was a terrible idea.
So he switched to putting his phone under his pillow and setting the alarm to vibrate. It took some learning but he finally learned how to wake up to it that way. He pulled his phone out from under the pillow and off the charger as he quietly headed to the bathroom
where he had put his cloths in cabinet the night before and jumped in the shower before getting dressed and heading to the kitchen.

(Oof Tweet Limit! Sorry for the Slow start guys bare with me…)
When he got to the kitchen he saw Yagi already at work making coffee. Yagi became his stepdad in middle school and he couldn’t ask for a better dad in his life. He was always there for him. He wasn’t a fan of Dabi but he tried to be civil with him around Izuku and he treated Inko
like she was a queen. “Morning,” He whispered. “Morning, Dad,” Izuku smiled as he took the coffee that was offered to him. The first time Yagi woke up to Izuku fumbling in the kitchen at 3:30 in the morning he started waking up early to make the coffee for him.
He had offered to help Izuku after but Izuku always brushed him off and told him to go back to bed. So now they shared a cup of coffee every morning before Izuku would head out to the barn and Yagi would go back to lay in bed with Inko for a few more hours.
Izuku simply liked a few hours to himself. Just him and the horses in the morning. “Thanks Dad,” Izuku mumbled as he threw his boots on and headed out the door to the barn. Where he was greeted with multiple nickers and some stomping horses.
“Good Morning,” He smiled at them
before making a beeline for his personal horses at the far end of the barn. “Hey girl,” He greeted her as he leaned his forehead against her muzzle. After a moment he got to work going to the other end of the barn and starting to pull one horse out at a time to groom them and
clean out their stalls. One stall was covered with blankets and what not to keep it dark and less stimulating and you could hear the horse pawing and snorting the entire time. “Easy there Thunder,” Izuku hushed as he worked with a different horse grooming him and cleaning his
stall before putting him back up. An hour later he was done with ever stall except for Thunders and right on cue, Todoroki walked in carrying two thermos’ full of coffee. “Here Midoriya,” He greeted handing one to Izuku. “Thanks Sho.” He hummed as he took a drink of hot coffee.
After a couple more sips of coffee they put their coffee down and looked at each other. “Ready,” Izuku breathed looking at Thunder’s stall. It was a group effort with this horse. Working together they were able to get Thunder out to the Round pen & started mucking his stall out.
Yagi then joined them in the barn as he started preparing the food for the horses while Izuku & Todoroki worked to fill waters & give medicine to the ones who needed it. Once all the stabled horses where cared for then went to work taking care of the ones in the corrals& pastures
& makeshift pens. Yagi used to tell him that he needed to tell Dabi they couldn’t take any more horses but it always seemed to make Izuku uncomfortable so now they just worked in comfortable silence.

“See You Later, Midorya,” Todoroki hollered as he left to get his work done. He would be back in the evening to help with evening chores. Izuku had never asked but Todoroki just started showing up and helping out after he ran into Izuku at the local dinner and he was asleep
at the counter. “See ya, Sho!” Izuku waved goodbye and went to work with his first horse of the day. By now the sun was coming up so Yagi headed inside to help Inko make breakfast. “Make sure you come in for breakfast, Izuku!” Yagi yelled as he went inside.
Izuku’s only response was a groan. He really didn’t have time to stop for breakfast but he knew his mom would come drag him inside for breakfast if he wasn’t in when it was done so he quickly got to work working with horses.
…………………………………
Katsuki groaned as he took another sip of coffee. He had decided after the last talk with Shitty Hair to just load Lord up and head over to the “horse whisperer”. At this point he had nothing left to lose. Shitty Hair had given him the website to send a request for help
but Katsuki was a doer & figured it would be best to just show up and see if there was something that they could do instead of wasting time emailing back and forth. Plus he wasn’t a fan of all that technology.
And that’s how he found himself loading Lord up and traveling 16hours to this farm. He’d be pissed if he drove all this way for nothing.
“Bout Damn Time,” He groaned as he saw the sign for “Midorya Farms : Rehab and Training”
As he pulled down the road he wondered if this really was the right place. It looked like a strong wind would blow the place down but Shitty Hair said that it was nicer than it looked so he may as well find out. He did drive 16 hours after all.
……………
Izuku looked up at the sound of a truck coming down the drive. “What,” he mumbled to himself. He wasn’t expecting a new horse today. There was no way he had absolutely no room! The sound of a snort and pawing brought his attention back to the pen with just enough time
To dodge the charging horse and send him back to the edge of the pen running around. Thunder was a tricky horse and his attention being pulled from him was not a good idea. He heard Yagi come out of the barn so he figured he’d leave him to greet the stranger.
………
“Hello can I help you?” Yagi inquired. “I’m looking for a Deku Midoriya,” Katsuki spoke his voice gruff but he trying to be respectful as he hopped out of his truck. Hearing his name said incorrectly Izuku hopped out of the arena. “It’s Izuku. What can I do for you?”
“That actually makes more sense can’t imagine someone naming a kid Deku,” Katsuki grumbled. “I’ll leave you to it,” Yagi muttered before heading back to the barn.
“I have a problem with my barrel horse. We’ve tried multiple trainers but so far nothing has worked and I was wondering if you might be able to help,” Katsuki explained trying not to sound skeptical.
“Oh uh! I’m sorry I don’t ha-” Izuku began there was no way he had space for another horse right now but he hadn’t heard Dabi walking up. “Of course he can look at him,” Dabi interrupted making Izuku tense up&look down. Katsuki looked at him curiously something was definitely up.
(Tweet Limit again! Oops again sorry for the slow start its going to get a bit more angsty from here but I’m gonna take a break for a bit and I’ll be right now)
TBC.
Gonna be posting hopefully tomorrow.
Continuing this but I need help naming Izuku’s horse. For those who know horses his horse is a mare. If you aren’t sure what that means that’s okay. Mare - Adult Female Horse (4yrs+) Before they are 4yrs they are called Fillies. (Or colts for males)
“ I have no room for another horse though, Dabi,” Izuku implored. “We can make room. It’s about time for Joker to go home anyway,” Dabi brushed him off. “What seems to be the issue with your horse,” Dabi addressed Katsuki who was just watching the conversation awkwardly.
“Joker isn’t ready to go home!” Izuku exclaimed earning a glare from Dabi that was clearly a threat. Izuku looked down for a second before plastering a smile on his face. “I’m sure I can find a space for him,” He sounded defeated but tried to cover it up.
Unfortunately for him Katsuki was very observant so he saw right through it. Originally Katsuki wasn’t gonna take no for an answer but he felt like something was going on. If the eye bags on this guy's face was anything to go by.
“Uh I can come another time if you are too busy,” Katsuki commented normally he wouldn’t care but something was definitely up. “No no it’s totally okay I can move some horses around tell me about your horse,” he insisted.
Katsuki looked from Izuku to Dabi and back. Something was definitely up. The guy had been tense since Dabi showed up. Yea Katsuki knew who Dabi was anyone in the horse business knew him. He was part of the Todoroki family but had his own racehorse business & was very successful.
In fact it was a video of Izuku working with his top racehorse, Crematory, that went viral. Even Katsuki had to admit he had seen the video and had been impressed. The normally hot headed and notoriously mean racehorse was basically putty in Izuku’s hands.
Katsuki shook his head and looked back at Izuku, “I’m sure you probably know me. I’m Bakugou Katsuki,” He introduced himself again to which Izuku just looked at him with no recognition.
“My horse is 2 time world champion barrel racer, Lord Explosion…” He tried because sometimes people recognized his horse first. However Izuku’s expression didn’t change.
“I’m sorry I haven’t kept up with the show strings for a few years,” Izuku explained sheepishly to which Katsuki gawked at him like he was insane. Was he serious, he works with horses, why not keep up with the show strings, Katsuki thought.
“I have seen you run the circuit. You’ve got a fine stallion there,” Dabi spoke, pulling Katsuki from his stupor. “Wait, Stallion?” Izuku looked concerned. “Dabi I don’t have a place to keep a stallion, we'd have to rearrange the entire yard and barn!” He spoke fast& frantically
“Then you will rearrange it.” Dabi ground out leaving no room for debate. Izuku looked at Dabi like he was crazy before taking a breath and looking at Katsuki. “If you don’t mind waiting I’ll get to moving around everything now,” Izuku huffed before rushing off.
“Don’t mind him. He doesn’t like running his business like it’s a business,” Dabi waved him off. “Why don’t you come with me an we can get paperwork started and what not. I know you are coming from a long way off so lets get everything settled and you can relax til Zu has a spot
ready for your horse,” He explained as he headed to the barn. When he got to the barn with Dabi. He saw Izuku mumbling a mile a minute trying to figure things out while the guy he met earlier could only be none other than Yagi Toshinori who was his ideal on the rodeo circuit til
he retired 10 yrs ago.
(In this Izuku and Katsuki are 24 and Yagi became Izuku’s stepdad when Izuku was 14 right after Yagi retired from the rodeo circuit)
While Dabi was going through all the paperwork with Katsuki, Izuku was freaking out tell Yagi he had no clue where he was going to put horses and especially since they would be bringing a stallion onto the property.
“I don’t know what to do dad!” Izuku cried. “Thunder can’t go anywhere else, your horse needs to stay up here, Joey isn’t ready to go into a pen yet,” He exclaimed pointing to the chestnut gelding that was currently pacing around his stall.
He continued muttering about how all the horses that needed to stay in the stalls. “Woah Woah! Calm down my boy,” Yagi soothed while rubbing his back. “We can figure it out, let's go one stall at a time okay.” Izuku nodded his head in agreement and they went to work moving horses
around and finding horses that could be put into pens & pastures together.
T.B.C.

Sorry it’s kinda short. I need y’all’s help though so I can continue. Katsuki’s Stallion is named Lord Explosion, Yagi’s horse is gonna be named All Might, but I can’t for the life of me decide what to name Izuku’s mare so I need help picking a name so I can continue!
They were finally down to the last few horses when Dabi and Katsuki came out of the office. “I’ll put Nana in the back pasture with the cows,” Izuku sighed. “You sure son? I’m sure we can find a better spot for her?” He questioned. “No it’s okay she’ll enjoy some time off with
the cows,” He said softly as he pet her neck softly. “I’ll move her after we get Thunder inside. It’ll be easier if I have a look at this new horse today so I can come up with a game plan,” He muttered.
“You sure can talk a lot,” Katsuki commented, causing Izuku to jump. “You okay son?” Yagi asked, concerned. “Yea Yea I’m fine,” He brushed off, “Sorry It’s a habit.” He smiled at Katsuki and if Katsuki thought that that smile could brighten any room well no one but he would know
he ever thought it. “We just need to move 2 more horses and then we will be ready. I need to bring Thunder in so we can take your boy to the round pen so I can evaluate him and I need to take my horse, Nana, out to the far pasture,” Izuku rambled on.
“Damn does he always ramble like that?” Katsuki questioned causing Yagi to chuckle as Izuku slammed his hand over his mouth. “Sorry,” he spoke, muffled by his hand. Katsuki chuckled at his reaction. “Okay we will get to work on moving Thunder in so if you can move back to the
house porch that would be great,” Izuku explained as he and Yagi moved to the corral where the horse in question was racing around. Dabi ushered Katsuki towards the porch and they watched the two work at getting the downright violent gelding into the barn.
Katsuki thought his horse was having issues but that horse was on another level. “What’s that horse's story?” Katsuki found himself asking Dabi.
Dabi scoffed and just shrugged his shoulders. “One of Izuku’s charity cases,” He brushed off before going inside and leaving Katsuki on the porch watching as the two dodged hooves and worked to get the gelding into the barn without getting hurt.
Katsuki’s attention was pulled away when he heard the sound of tires on gravel and looked up to see a god awful hot pink car pulling down the driveway too fast and kicking up a dust cloud behind it.
The car’s obnoxious horn sounds loudly as the Izuku and Yagi are wrangling the raging horse out of the corral fence making the horse bolt as a girl with brunette shoulder length hair hops out of the car with a horrified look on her face.

“FUCK!” Izuku yells as the horse bolts.
Katsuki was no stranger to cursing. He did all the time but for some reason hearing the greenette curse felt wrong and if the look on his step dad's face was anything to go by he thought so as well. However the didn’t have time to dwell on that.
Both Yagi and Izuku bolt into the barn only for Izuku to race out on the back of the palomino he was petting earlier. Katsuki assumed it was the horsed named Nana. He rode just in bridle & had a lariat in one of his hands.

“Come on girl. Get ‘em!” Izuku clicks to the horse.
As they chase off after the runaway horses leaving Katsuki shocked at what he was seeing before he storms up to the girl. “The fuck are you doing?!” He yells. “Have you never been around a damn horse before,”
He gets in her face before he hears Lord absolutely losing it in the trailer.

“Shit!” He curses and runs to the trailer. Yagi quickly joins him but not before shooting the girl a stern look that seemed to say “you know better.”
“Look I know what the plan was but if we don’t get him out of this trailer now he’s going to hurt himself,” Katsuki ground out trying to focus on his horse who was currently thrashing about in the trailer instead of him thrashing the girl that caused the mess in the first place.
(This part is not done yet I’m still writing the rest but I felt bad about not finishing and posting this yesterday. I will finish the rest and post the rest of this part today just gotta put the nanny kid down for a nap and make lunch and I’ll be right back!)
“You’re right, let's just back the trailer up to the round pen and you can just let him out straight into it.” Yagi spoke calmly which spoke to his years of experience where he probably dealt with situations like this before.
Hopefully not very many though cause this was a nightmare, Katsuki thought.
Katsuki and Yagi were so focused on getting his horse calm and in the arena they didn’t notice Dabi leave with the girl. (I’m sure y’all know who she is)
“Okay that’s good,” Yagi hollered as Katsuki finished backing the trailer to the corral. Katsuki hopped out of the truck and walked up to Yagi. “You ready? If it’s anything like the troubles we’ve been having. He’s gonna come out of there like a bat outta hell,” Katsuki groaned.
Before they could unload him though Izuku came back into view, tugging the runaway gelding along behind him and Nana as they made their way to the barn. “Give me one second and I’ll be right there.”
He hopped off Nana letting her graze freely just outside the barn as he pulled Thunder into his stall. “I’m just gonna send Nana out to the field real quick and I’ll be right there to help,” Izuku nodded at them as he brushed off his jeans.
“Come on, Nana,” Izuku called and the mare followed him eagerly.
Lord had calmed down marginally not enough for him to stay in the trailer for long but a couple more minutes wouldn’t hurt so they patiently waited as Izuku send Nana out to the far pasture. She knew the way by heart and was so well behaved.
Izuku just had to take her to the gate. “Go see the cows girl,” He patted her neck and off she went.
“Okay let’s get him outta there,” Izuku said and just as Katsuki predicted as soon as they opened the trailer, Lord Explosion bolted into the corral. Izuku watched the stallion run the corral.
“We are gonna have to let him cool down first before we can do the evaluation,” Izuku sighed. Uraraka knew better than to honk her horn on Izuku’s ranch. What was she thinking?
“If it weren’t for that psycho in the pink car!” Katsuki raged, turning around to tear into the girl to just now realize she was gone. “I apologize for her behavior, she knows better,” Izuku sighed. He honestly sounded defeated to Katsuki.
“She does. I’ll have to go talk with Miss Uraraka later,” Yagi responded.

Sorry for the slow & short updates. I wanted this one to be longer but my 11hr work day ended up being 14hrs and I’m exhausted & in a lot of pain so I have to end it here for now.

TBC
Sorry I haven’t updated it like I’ve wanted to but I’m updating now. I’m not exactly sure how long this update is as I’m writing it in google docs and transferring it over in increments but anyway.

Back to the top if you are new :)
The defeated look in Izuku’s eye told him all he needed to know so Katsuki decided to keep his mouth shut for now. “Dabi said you guys had a room above the barn that I could use instead of staying in a hotel?” Katsuki decided to changed the subject.
“Ah yes we do have an apartment in the barn loft that you are welcome to use,” Yagi smiled, “though, I must warn you we do wake up rather early to start the day and I can’t guarantee that we won’t wake you by accident.”
“That’s fine I wake up early as well,” Katsuki explained. Izuku looked back at the barn. “Well while we wait for your boy to calm down I think I’ll take Joey out and work with him,” Izuku mumbled as he walked off leaving Yagi and Katsuki to watch him leave.
“Don’t forget to come in for lunch Izu!” Yagi yelled after him, sighing cause more than likely he would be taking food out to him and forcing him to take a break. He didn’t really blame him though cause he knew they were swamped with horses.
“Let’s go inside. My wife will be having lunch done soon and then we can get you settled in,” Yagi gestured to the house.
When they got inside Yagi introduced Katsuki to Inko and sure enough she already had lunch ready. Katsuki asked if they should go tell Izuku to which both sighed and Yagi explained he’d probably have to take Izuku lunch and force him to take a break.
Katsuki had wanted to ask questions but he kept the questions to himself for now. After all, he just got here and he really did need help with his horse so best not upset the people who were gonna help.
“Thank you for the meal, ma’am,” He thanked her after lunch. “Oh please no need to be so formal,” Inko smiled and Katsuki could tell Izuku got his smile from his mom for sure.
After helping to clean up, Inko handed Yagi a plate of food. “Make sure he takes a good break and eats,” She smiled softly. “Of course dear,” Yagi kissed her forehead before heading towards the door.
“Now let's get you settled in the loft and I’ll get Izu to take a break and have some lunch.
“Ugh how much longer do we have to keep this up,” Uraraka whined as they sat on Dabi’s lap in their small apartment. No one knew Dabi was actually in a lot of debt. Most of it caused by the little brunette currently sitting in his lap.
Dabi kissed her forehead and pulled her in closer. “You know as well as I do that we need the money,” Dabi sighed and rubbed her back. “I’m booking as many horses for him as I can so I can pay off our debt faster then we just need some extra money then we are home free.”
“Ugh We better be able to get that house I want,” she groaned into Dabi’s neck. “We will. I promise,” Dabi soothed as he rubbed her back.
Katsuki followed Yagi outside where they could see Izuku working with the chestnut gelding who, he assumed was named Joey, in the large outdoor arena. Katsuki was wondering what he was doing.
He was just sitting in the arena while the gelding paced the fence looking back to Izuku then out at the road like he was trying to decide what to do.
Yagi slowly walked up to the fence with Katsuki following close behind. “How’s it going?” Yagi whispered. “It’s going, that's for sure,” Izuku muttered. Katsuki looked at the horse and back at Izuku. “What are you doing exactly?” Katsuki asked, skeptical.
“Oh I’m just trying to have him decide to come to me. He’s known to run away in the pasture or when you get out of the saddle so I want him to decide he wants to be with me,” Izuku explained.
Katsuki looked at him like he was crazy for a moment. “Why not just run him around til he comes up to you?” He asked he knew most people made their horses run if they wanted to run away until they decided that they rather be with the person than have to run.
“Well for some horses that make work but for Joey it only made it worse. It started with just him running while in the pasture but now anytime you get off him or stop while leading he’ll just take off so we have to take a different approach,” Izuku explained.
Katsuki hummed in acknowledgement. While he still didn’t believe that would work he would leave Izuku to it.
“Izu, my boy, your mother made you a plate of lunch,” Yagi held the plate out to him. Izuku sighed and looked up at Yagi with tired eyes. “You know I don’t have time for lunch, Dad.” Izuku sounded exhausted to Katsuki and you could tell by the look on Yagi’s face —
he heard it too and he didn’t know what to do. “Just eat while you sit out here okay. For your mom and me,” Yagi compromised. Izuku smiled at him and took the plate and took a bite. “Tell mom I said Thanks,” Izuku said softly, making Yagi smile.
“Of course and I’ll bring you out some coffee in a minute too,” He offered, getting a full smile from Izuku before he turned to Katsuki and they headed off to the loft.

(Tweet limit brb)
Once inside the loft Yagi showed Katsuki around and explained that if he wanted to eat with them he was welcome to but they ate breakfast early and dinner fairly late nowadays.
Katsuki understood and walked over to the big loft doors that would normally be used to throw hay into the loft if it wasn’t converted into an extra room off of the house.
Katsuki wouldn’t necessarily call it an apartment since it didn’t have a kitchen but it did have a bedroom and a bathroom which was good enough for him. He briefly wondered if they built it for a stable hand maybe.
Then his attention was drawn out of his thoughts by a soft chuckle from Yagi. “Good Job, my boy,” He whispered to himself though Katsuki heard and looked out the loft door/window to see the horse Izuku was working with slowly walking up to him while licking his lips.
“Well damn,” Katsuki whispered to himself. He wasn’t going to say anything but his curiosity got the better of him and he turned to Yagi. “So he seems to be pretty tired?” He questioned unsure how to actually approach the top. To be honest people were not his strong suit.
Katsuki always got along better with horses because people just pissed him off, with the exception of a few close friends who he could manage. Even if they still ticked him off, they were loyal and understood his “rough” personality.
They never held it against him. They didn’t try to change him either.
Yagi chuckled though to Katsuki it wasn’t a humorous chuckle. Katsuki’s eyes furrowed in response. Something was definitely up.
“It’s nothing to worry about! We are still just getting used to being so busy since the video of Izuku went viral with Crematory,” Yagi brushed off though it sounded like he was trying to convince himself as well.
But that video went viral over a year ago, Katsuki thought to himself.

So I made a Ko-fi. Don’t feel like you need to donate its just made because I do plan on doing more threads in the future and more art and random stuff. If you do donate it’s all going into savings for my infertility treatments. ko-fi.com/thatweirdwrite…
Partial short edit incoming. Sorry it’s not longer I will finish it tomorrow but its almost midnight and I’m stressed as heck and today wore me out. Plus I’m already sore from the gym. Please excuse the poor updating. 😩
Katsuki decided to keep quiet and just observe for the rest of the day. They went and saw Katsuki’s horse and Izuku asked so many questions that Katsuki thought he was going to explode. How can there be so many questions about one issue, he had thought.
However every answer seemed to get a thoughtful look out of Izuku like he was analyzing everything, so Katsuki did his best not to explode on him.
After they finished the evaluation of Lord, Izuku helped Katsuki groom him and get him settled into the last available stall. Katsuki had only blown up at Izuku once saying that he could groom his own damn horse.
Izuku had flinched before quickly plastering a wide smile on his face like he didn’t damn near jump out of his skin.
Katsuki set to work setting up the loft for him while at the same time keeping an eye on what was happening around the farm. Later in the evening Yagi tacked up his horse All Might and headed out to the far fields to check on the cows.
Katsuki was in aww that he was seeing the famed horse and his rider but he kept his fanboying to himself even if both were no longer in there prime.
Katsuki watched Izuku work with horse after horse and on top of that he was doing normal farm work as well like mending fences, cutting firewood etc. Katsuki didn’t see him take a break not once and before he knew it it was already dinner time.
Yagi came and brought him to the house while half-heartedly yelling to Izuku that dinner was ready like he knew Izuku wouldn’t be coming in for dinner.
Katsuki asked if they needed any help with the food or setting the table but Inko waved him off and told him not to worry she had already taken care of it and sure enough the table was set.
Katsuki sat down at the table soon followed by Inko and Yagi but for once that day he noticed that Dabi wasn’t around.
Inko must have seen the questioning look in his eye and seemed to answer the question he had running through his mind.
“Dabi said he’d be working late at his race barn so we’ll see him in the morning,” She spoke calmly but if Katsuki didn’t know any better he would say there was some venom in those words.
Sorry for the incredibly short update. I wanted to finish it today but got crazy busy and didn’t realize the toll the stress from today took on me. I will be continuing tomorrow since I have the day off.
Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t updated in forever. Ever since we did the trigger shot on the 10th I have been struggling. Especially this week its been headache after headache then I had a migraine for 4 days and I’m just struggling but I promise I’m starting to work on a LONG update!
Will hopefully be up by the end of the week or beginning of next week.
I’m so sorry this update has been a long time coming and i wanted it to be longer and better! 😫 I’ve been struggling with writers block and when from being a nanny to one little one to 2! So I’m now watching 2 under 3yrs and both are delayed in multiple areas but -
- that is no excuse.

I’m sorry for the delay Part 2 is officially starting.

Here have a picture i did of Katsuki’s stallion, Lord Explosion. Image
After the original conversation about Dabi they ate in silence. Katsuki could feel the anger rolling off of Inko in waves. It was very clear to him she did not like Dabi. Katsuki had originally thought that Izuku would join them a little late but in the end he didn’t.
“I’ll take a plate out to Izuku for you,” Katsuki offered as Inko prepared a plate for her son. She smiled softly at him. “Thank you,” she said, handing the plate to him with a soft smile. Katsuki walked back out and when he didn’t see Izuku in sight he headed for the barn-
- assuming that is where he would be.
Katsuki walked into the barn to be met with half red and half white hair. “The fuck are you doing here half and half,” He groaned. They had met on the show circuit though not recently since Todoroki switched from barrel racing to show jumping. Shoto turned around and shushed him.
“EXCUSE M- “ he cut off when he saw the man point to where a certain green haired trainer was sleeping sitting up in some hay bales.
“Damn I mean makes sense he’s so tired I don’t think I saw him take a single break today,” Katsuki whispered as Shoto gestured to the plate. “Here,” Shoto said, taking the plate. “I’ll put it in the mini fridge in his office,'' he whispered before disappearing into the office -
- that was just next to the tack room/feed room.

Shoto emerged from the office with a scowl and pursed lips, but didn’t say anything for a minute. Katsuki figured he wasn’t going to say anything til Shoto sighed and shook his head.
“He’s overworking himself again,” he said frustration clear in his voice. Shoto looked up at Katsuki with that same straight face as always.
“I’m actually kinda mad that you are here,” Shoto grumbled, “but I guess I can't really blame you and I’m sure he wanted to say he was too busy but my brother…” Shoto all but growled the word “Brother” out like it had burnt him.
It was no secret in the show circuit that Dabi and his brother Shoto didn’t get along so it really didn’t surprise Katsuki how he spoke of his brother but something about the way he said it this time seemed different. Like he knew something more.
“I took care of the evening chores for him,” Shoto said as he turned to leave the barn. He stopped at the entrance but didn’t turn back around. “Please make sure he eats and goes to bed. He’s going to try and do more work when he wakes up, but he needs to sleep.”
Shoto’s words left no room for argument and just like that he was in his car headed down the drive.
Katsuki grumbled under his breath before going to Izuku’s office with the intent to grab a chair to sit in and wait for the man to wake up. He grabbed the small folding chair that was propped up in the corner of the room and turned to leave only for the wall to catch his eye.
The wall that the chair had been leaning up against was covered in ribbons.
T.B.C.
I’m sorry this was so delayed & short. I’m going to be working more on it when the boys go down for nap time today. Can’t guarantee more will be up today but I’m going to try. I need caffeine 😫

Think I may start posting free little updates on Ko-fi idk ko-fi.com/thatweirdwrite…
Katsuki stood staring at the wall before he started looking at the ribbons more closely. Many of them came from events he’d heard of either in the western circuit or in the English circuit.
He was actually surprised by the variety from well known rodeos to the barrel racing nationals, among others, on the western side to well known 3 day events and national eventing shows and multiple national wins in the show jumping circuit.
As far as Katsuki knew, Toshinori had only competed on the rodeo circuit and primarily in barrel racing
Katsuki’s eyes scan the wall that is absolutely covered in ribbons with the majority of them being first place there was still some second and third place ribbons throughout and in the middle there were several sashes from prestigious shows that while -
- Katsuki had never rode in English he still keep up with them.
Katsuki’s eyes scanned over the wall again before zooming in on 3 picture frames that stood out in the middle. One had a picture of Izuku standing below the arch at the end of their driveway.
It looked like it was taken when he first started working with rehabbing horses as there was a new sign below the original Midoriya Ranch sign that said Horse Rehab and Rescue.
Katsuki actually didn’t remember reading it nor had he known that they did rescue as well. In the Middle was a picture of Izuku on his horse with one of the national sashes around the horse and a blue ribbon on its bridle while Izuku held a large, almost plate looking, trophy.
Then to the right of that photo was a picture of a much younger Izuku holding the halter of a younger looking version of his horse with Izuku’s forehead pressed against the horse's muzzle. It looked actually very calm to Katsuki.
“He hasn’t competed in years now,” Yagi spoke softly, startling Katsuki. “Sorry didn’t mean to startle you, Young Bakugou.” Katsuki just brushed him off. “Didn’t scare me,” he mumbled under his breath.
“Why not?” He asked, clearing his throat. Yagi looked at him confused for a minute before he remembered what he had first said.
“Ah… not enough time and a lot has happened over the years. I know he misses it though. I’ve been trying to get him to take on less work and set aside some time for himself and not work himself so hard…” Yagi’s eyebrows furrowed as he spoke. It was clearly bothering him.
“However every time I think we are gonna slow down it picks back up. Dabi…” Katsuki could practically hear the older man grind his teeth hard at the other man’s name. “Um.. yea the books just keep filling up every time we start slowing down.”
Sorry it’s a short update. I’m writing when I can and finally working out a new schedule to balance everything happening in my life right now.

T.B.C.

I kinda want to try my hand a drawing the wall of ribbons but also I’m not the best artist and Idk if I have the patience.
I’ve been terrible about updating guys I’m sorry. My life is super chaotic and my depression and fertility treatments are taking a lot out me but I do have a update for you.
The next couple days passed by uneventfully. Katsuki would wake up early and go for an early morning run but every single time he woke up Izuku was already up and taking care of horses or working with a horse.
He would continue on late to the evening and pass out for a couple hours on a haybale and Shoto would show up and help with evening chores which Katsuki found himself helping as well under the guise that he had to take care of his horse anyway.
Or he would growl about his horse and that Izuku being tired could affect how Izuku worked with him.
Katsuki learned a lot about Izuku while they did chores together and he found himself watching him when he worked with any horse, not just his. He learned they had a lot in common and how he met Yagi when his mom ran into him at a show and spilled her coffee on his shirt.
Soon enough they were going on dates and next thing Izuku knew his idol had become his dad.
Katsuki began to pick up on some things that Izuku would do that made him question things. Izuku had this habit of mumbling. He would start mumbling a mile a minute about things that interested him. Most of the time it was about the horses or about what he had to do that day.
Katsuki thought he would be more annoyed with the mumbling but he actually found it rather adorable and that’s saying something because he would never describe anything as adorable. However he did notice something that made his brows furrow every time it happened.
Izuku would be mumbling away about something but when he realized he was doing it or someone had joined the area he would slap a hand over his mouth and start apologizing quietly. Katsuki even noticed Yagi and Inko look sadly every time it happened.
Katsuki and Izuku were currently working on cleaning stalls while they worked and Izuku started mumbling about his plans for the day. Katsuki did his best to keep up with what he was saying though he wouldn’t catch everything he did his best to understand what he could.
“IthinkI’mgoingtoworkLordundersaddletodayhe’sbeendoinggreatonthegroundbuttherealtasktestwillbewithhimundersaddleand” Izuku was mumbling as he cleaned out a stall next to Katsuki.
“Is there anything you need me to do with Lord today then?” Katsuki had asked without hesitation. Izuku immediately slapped a hand over his mouth. “Sorry,” He said softly. Katsuki growled at the reaction which made Izuku flinch.
“Why do you do that,” He growled out trying to be less threatening but what can he say he’d always sounded gruff and “angry” when he talked.
“Sorry I didn’t mean to start mumbling. I know it’s annoying. It’s a habit I haven’t been able to break,” Izuku spoke quietly. His eyes never left the ground while he spoke. It was like the ground was the most interesting thing in the world at that moment.
“That’s not what I’m talking about,” Katsuki spoke roughly. “And it’s not annoying.” Izuku’s head snapped up to look at Katsuki like he was a unicorn. “I was asking why do you stop mumbling and apologize for it. You shouldn’t be apologizing. There is nothing wrong with it.”
Izuku continued to stare at Katsuki like he had grown another head. His eyes blurring a little. “Shit…” Katsuki hissed as he dropped his manure rake and went over to Izuku. “Hey why are you crying?” Katsuki spoke as soft as he could.
“Sorry,” Izuku hiccuped as he rubbed his eyes to clear up the tears.
“Stop that,” Katsuki growled. “You’ve got no reason to apologize.” He reasoned.
“Sor-“ Izuku stopped himself before he could finish his apology. “My mumbling usually annoys people. I try to stop myself but I can’t help it.” He explained.
“Well those people are fucking idiots,” Katsuki said like it was a fact.
“Kacchan!! You can’t call people idiots,” Izuku whined but froze when he saw Katsuki staring at him with those piercing red eyes.
“What? What did you call me?” Katsuki said slowly. Izuku slapped a hand over his mouth again but this time for a different reason. He had accidently called Katsuki the nickname he had given him in his head.
“I’m sorry. I have been calling you… Ka- kacchan in my head. I didn’t mean to say it out loud! Please forget you heard that!” Izuku almost whimpered.
“I don’t mind it, Deku~” Katsuki drug the name out dramatically.

Did Dabi ever come back after “working late”?

If you wanna leave a tip you can but not necessary though I do put it all towards my Fertility treatments as we are moving forward to doing IUI and it’s so expensive 😫
