#Championship #predictions

24th: Rotherham United. I love Paul Warne and the business they've done in recent years, but lost 30 goals in Ladapo + Smith this summer. They've also lost their best defender Ihkiewe too.
23rd: Wigan Athletic. Won the league by 2pts last season and scored a bucket load of goals. Top scorer Will Keane scored 26 last season, that was League 1 though. Keane has only managed 8 goals in total in the Championship. Manager also unproven at this level.
22nd: Birmingham City. Finished 10pts above the drop zone last season. New owners. New manager, and an inexperienced one in general as number 1. Not impressed with the squad depth and think this is the season they'll finally drop into League 1.
21st: Blackpool. Was big on them going into last season. That was down to the brilliance of Critchley though, and now he's gone I don't think the squad will perform as good. Appleton in his 2 seasons at Champ level has relegated Pompey and sacked at Blackburn.
20th: Reading. Paul Ince PPG is 1.07 at Reading. Finished 21st last season after a 6pts deduction. Lost 3 of their best MF's in Laurent, Swift and Rinomhota. They have added Hendrick and Hutchinson to the MF though, and signed Shane Long to add to Joao and Meite in the FWD line.
19th: Blackburn. Untested manager at this level, could be out of his depth. Hasn't been helped by the outgoings of the majority of their best players. Rothwell, Lenihan and Nyambe leaving this summer. Still have 2 or 3 impact players but depth isn't strong enough.
18th: Bristol City. Finished 17th last. Scored most goals in bottom half last, but conceded 3rd most in the league. Adding Naismith may help that. Weimann 22 goal season won't be repeated and was an anomaly season only 2nd time he saw 10+ in Championship.
17th: Cardiff City. Finished 18th last season. Lots of players signed this summer, in fact an entire new XI could be fielded with their incomings this summer alone. Think that could affect them in a bad way.
16th: Sunderland. I'm a big fan of Alex Neil, love his philosophy and management style. Team has bags of energy which is a key element of most mid table Champ teams. Has enough ability in it to be very comfortable this season.
15th: Stoke. Steady 14th last campaign, I think will be around the same position this season too. Best player Vrancic not with them for this season but made some decent signings this summer.
14th: QPR. Michael Beale, new to management at this level but inherits a fairly decent squad. Struggled for goals last season, losing Austin this summer won't help that cause either. Addition of Tyler Roberts is a decent signing however.
13th: Hull City. 19th last season. Lost best player Keane Lewis-Potter. New manager. Apart from that, I've been really impressed with the signings they've made this summer. Overall I think the squad has improved upon last.
12th: Millwall. 9th last season. Lost key player Jed Wallace this summer. Signed Afobe this summer who scored 12 for them last season. Rowatt has built a good enough squad to still be in the top half even without Wallace.
11th: Hudders. Lost a lot of good players this summer, including the manager. Schofield is new to senior management so it will be interesting to see how he copes through some tricky periods. 1 or 2 decent additions and still kept 14 goal contributions with the brilliant Thomas.
10th: 12th last campaign. Think they'll learn from last season's experiences. No major outgoings as of now. Couple of good loan signings to improve depth and a free transfer of Kasey Palmer. Providing they keep Gyokeres and O'hare they'll be top half again.
9th: PNE. 13th last season, but Lowe didn't get a full season. Proved his quality at Champ level with 1.5PPG when taking over. Like the squad. Adding Brady and Woodman in goal are signings I particularly like. Expect Riis to hit around the same goal tally of 16.
8th: Burnley. How will Kompany cope as a Champ manager? Worrying for Burnley that they don't have Pope, Tarkowski, Mee and Collins at the back. CB is largely inexperienced outside of Long. Can see them scoring a few but conceding too many.
7th: WBA. 10th last season. Added some more creativity in Swift and Wallace. The loss of Johnstone though I think will cost their chances of getting into the play-offs as he was one of the better keepers last season in terms of goals conceded per game.
6th: Boro. 7th last season, can go one better this season with Wilder having a full season. One of the better managers in the league. Decent enough defence last season and further strengthening it with Lenihan and Steffen in goal. Struggle to see where goals come from.
5th: Norwich. Last time they were relegated back to the Championship they won the league with 97pts. Big difference here is they don't have Buendia anymore and Dean Smith is in charge, not Farke. Good squad but don't think Smith is as good as Farke personally.
4th: Luton. Huge fan of Nathan Jones, personally think he's one of best EFL managers of all time with what he's done at Luton. Finished 6th last season. Great summer. Scored 63 goals last season, adding Freeman, Woodrow and Morris could improve that number.
3rd: Swansea. Finished 15th last season. There is usually a surprise team every Champ season it seems. Martin's side will be that team this season. Play great football. Couple of good signings this summer. Full season of Piroe + Obafemi as well, 43 goal contributions last season
2nd: Watford. New manager but an incredibly strong squad. The loss of Sissoko in midfield will be a big miss. So will the loss of Cucho and Josh King up front. But added 2 new ST's this summer.
1st: Blades. Much improved under Heckingbottom last season. Sneaked into the play-offs in the final few weeks despite having several injuries to key players. Added really well this summer. No Gibbs-White this season but overall a much stronger squad than last.
