It is believed that Girija resides in the roots of Bel tree, Maheshwari in stalk, Dakshayani in branches, Parvati in leaves and Gauri in flowers.
This is the reason why Shiva is very fond of Belpatra.
* Bel leaves which are of Tri-foliate form are offered to Shiv
