For those who'd like a refresher of where we last left MTC, check out chapter 14 here:
Before we get started, please know that the splash page for this chapter features MTC posing with a random crocodile. Where did they get it from? Why are they so chill having a crocodile in their midst? MTCrocodile keeps cracking me up.
The chapter opens with Ichijiku walking through the halls of a Chuuouku building looking uncharacteristically disconcerted. It's DRB season again, and Ichijiku's already swamped with work. Yet now she needs to also keep an eye on Honobono AND- #hypspoiler
Nemu's voice interrupts her thoughts. Ichijiku stops and lets Nemu approach her. Nemu removes her cap deferentially and asks a concerned-looking Ichijiku if she can talk. Nemu pauses and then begins to make a confession. She... #hypspoiler
The comic now cuts to Samatoki, walking the streets of Yokohama and thinking about the drug dealer taunting Samatoki and Juuto in the last chapter. Just then, ones of his grunts runs up to him, panting. He's been looking for Samatoki. Their boss has been arrested! #hypspoiler
Meanwhile, Juuto walks into his office, ready to begin another day of work, only to find all of his coworkers staring at him in stunned silence. One of Juuto's work buddies [who he was talking with in BB/MTC+ chapter 11] is trembling in fright as he approaches Juuto. #hypspoiler
Juuto, what have you DONE?
Juuto doesn't have the faintest idea what's going on until a woman sitting on the couch calls out to the "four-eyed dweeb". Juuto starts as he recognizes her. She's the vice director general of the CCAB, Misago Haebaru! #hypspoiler
[We last saw Haebaru in FP/M+ chapter 7 in a showdown against Gentarou and Dice.]
Haebaru's here on business, but she also wants to meet the good little cog in the machine working with his nose to the grindstone for Chuuouku. #hypspoiler
Juuto sarcastically responds that such a cog like him is undeserving of a visit from one as mighty as she. But he's got things to do and noses to grind, so would she kindly let him get on with his day?
He's got things to do, huh? Not any more. Haebaru smirks. #hypspoiler
She stands up and declares that, according to her authority, Mr. Juuto Iruma is as of this moment hereby dismissed from the force for disciplinary reasons.
Juuto is shocked and can barely say a word. Haebaru jokes that now he's like that washed-up soldier: unemployed. #hypspoiler
Juuto finally regains his voice and tries to beg for an explanation, but Haebaru only turns away. She's got better things to do than talk to Little Bunny Foo Foo over here [she is dragging this man with every word she speaks], and besides, Chuuouku IS the law. #hypspoiler
She can do what she wants! As Juuto grits his teeth in anger, Haebaru walks away laughing.
Juuto slams his fist on what used to be his desk and swears. What with this and the drug dealer, one thing's for certain. Chuuouku's in bed with the yakuza Hanmyou-gumi! #hypspoiler
In other news, Riou is sitting in his tent unsuccessfully researching Chuuouku's max security prison when his hip radio crackles. Kubiki, Riou's old squad mate, is calling with important news - he's found a person who knows about the very prison Riou is looking into. #hypspoiler
While Riou learns more, Juuto is back at the precinct archives with another work buddy [his partner from BB/MTC+ chapter 2] conducting his own investigations. Work buddy is concerned about getting in trouble, but he'll do what he can to repay what he owes Juuto. #hypspoiler
He goes to watch the door while Juuto looks through the virtual files. None of them are available via the internet, so he has to use the archive computer directly. He digs up a lot of dirt on Chuuouku, and it's pretty much all what he expected to see. #hypspoiler
All their actions in this precinct have been related to drugs and drug cases, but there isn't enough information to establish a concrete connection. Just then, buddy whispers that someone's coming, so Juuto makes to go. #hypspoiler
Yet as he closes out of the system, another file catches his eye. He reads it as the buddy frantically whispers that it's time to go, and then the two nip out just in time.
Back out in town, Juuto thinks to himself that he might need to ask for help in this search. #hypspoiler
Speaking of help, Samatoki's calling. Samatoki yells that his boss has been arrested and demands to know what's happening. Juuto recognizes that this must be Haebaru's doing and, instead of explaining further, tells him to meet at Riou's place and hangs up on him. #hypspoiler
Juuto is the last to arrive at the campsite later that evening, and Samatoki is spitting mad that Juuto has the audacity to show up late. This is Samatoki's PRECIOUS time they're talking about. Juuto chuckles fondly at that and then delivers the news: he's been fired. #hypspoiler
After filling Riou and Samatoki in on the whole debacle, Samatoki concludes that this must be connected with the drug dealer incident. Juuto agrees. Riou, meanwhile, asks what Juuto wanted help with. Oh, that? Finding intel on someone. #hypspoiler
Yet before Juuto can say who, Riou goes, "Let me guess. Hitaki Tsumabira?" [the Chuuouku officer from BB/MTC+ and FP/M+ chapter(s) 4 in the Grasshopper arc]
Riou says he's already looking into her, as the prison he's interested in was under her jurisdiction. #hypspoiler
She was jailed herself after Ichijiku caught her abusing power in the Grasshopper arc, but she's since escaped and is now at large. Now, if only they knew where she is to ask her how all this is connected. Well, actually they DO know - or Riou does, anyway. #hypspoiler
She's the person Kubiki mentioned.
Well, that was easy! Samatoki leaps to his feet and says that now they need to go beat the shit out of that drug dealer from last chapter.
Yet Juuto stops him. He asks that the drug dealer be left for him alone to handle. #hypspoiler
He needs to settle this himself.
Samatoki doesn't say yes. All he does is warn Juuto not to make a thoughtless mistake.
Juuto agrees, and Mad Trigger Crew do their hand signs together. Then, Juuto walks off into the darkness on his solo mission. #hypspoiler
The chapter ends here to be continued next month!
