BJP buried the federal system ― by introducing GST.
On the face of it, GST appears to be an economic reform. But what of its impact? By agreeing to this new regime, the states of the Union have ceded their financial autonomy to the Centre.
We are now in a situation where the states’ wealth is placed at the foot of the Centre and they have to then beg for their share from it. By this #BJP have buried the very life of the federal system which is the most important feature of our Constitution! .
Before the British destroyed India's ethnic economy, our village communities were little republics having nearly everything they want within themselves; and almost independent of foreign relations. They seem to last where nothing else lasts.
This union of the village communities, each one forming a separate little state in itself...was in a high degree conducive to their happiness, and to the enjoyment of a great portion of freedom and independence.
The destruction of village industries was a powerful blow to the communities. The balance between industry and agriculture was upset, the traditional division of labour was broken up, and numerous stay probably taking individuals could not be easily fitted into any group activity
India has an infinite variety and there is absolutely no reason why we should try to regiment it after a single pattern.
India is far greater, far richer & more varied than any part of it. We have to develop an outlook which embraces all this variety & considers it our very own.
The differences in language, culture, religious and ethnicity were to be seen not as obstacles to be overcome, as antithetical to national consolidation, but as positive features that were sources of strength to emerging nationhood.
Consolidation of independent India was to occur under the concept of 'unity in diversity'.
Diversity could also be used for divisive purposes and transformed into disruptive tendencies, such as
Communalism, casteism and linguistic or regional exclusiveness .
Parliament occupies a pivotal position in a parliamentary democracy. As on date it is becoming ineffective. Its role diminishing and its policy-making powers to atrophy.
The PM has to work incessantly to install respect for Parliament and ensure that it functions with decorum
and responsibility. PM has to attend it's sittings regularly, pay full attention to the views of the opposition parties, treat them with respect as an integral part of the democratic process and often let them influence and change government policies
The opposition parties in turn have to act responsibly abiding by the parliamentary rules of the game.
On the contrary we observe that once a government gets a majority in the legislature it formulates and tries to implement its policies, irrespective of the views of the
@nsitharaman and @narendramodi have heralded a blitzkrieg on the economically poor majority of India by raising GST on essential items, even as inflation and unemployment rises to all time high.
Even the middle class is suffering wage cuts, delayed salaries, allowance loss etc.
The GST council does constitute representation from all states, but the carnage we see here is directly attributable to the #ModiGovt
Here are the reasons :
*The vote of the Central Government shall have the weight of one-third of the total votes*
*The votes of the State Government shall have the weight of two-third of the total votes, cast in the meeting*
Gujarat's inequality levels have been rising since 1993-94, when its cumulative Gini index (both for rural and urban areas) was 0.279. This was the time when Gujarat began implementing the new economic policy.
Shockingly, the state’s infant mortality rate is worse than Jharkhand; it also has the fourth lowest teacher student ratio in the country.
According to the 2011 Census, poverty rate in Gujarat is 16.63 per 1 million people.
What is even more striking is that wages in Gujarat were also lower than the all-India average, suggesting that its performance in this regard was much worse than states that are much poorer.
So, while Gujarat’s per capita income was around 20% higher than the per capita income
Salmon start their life in freshwater rivers nd streams in the forests and then head out to the salty seas when they have matured, spending the rest of their life in saltwater oceans.
Years later, individuals return to the very same freshwater river and stream where they were born to reproduce and die. This event of Nature is called the 'salmon run' since the fish 'run' or swim upstream to lay and fertilize the eggs of the next generation.
Upon their return to spawn, salmon feed not only various natives or first Nations tribes, but also many diverse species of wildlife, from birds to wolves to bears, making it the keystone species of the entire ecosystem.
