Humans consume over 100 billion tons of natural resources every year. And this is increasing every year.

7% of this is recycled. That's All.
93% of this ends up on this planet as WASTE.

It would be right to say that the World we created, after passing through stone-age, bronze-age, iron-age, consumer-age ... is NOW in the WASTE AGE.

We have dug and drilled deep into the earth's crust - on land and under the sea. We pulled out every resource that this planet had stored over thousands of centuries, and created consumables. After its useful Life, the same is discarded.

Go to Google /AI and research for pictures that show discarded car tyres, burial sites of the carcasses of wind mills, dead solar panels, plastic waste, land fill sites .... I can bet that after watching it, you will find it difficult to sleep. The nightmarish giant size of the problem can haunt you.

We at #Ui (ui.ltd) work on Non-Recyclable #PlasticWaste.

The processed food industry is one of the biggest consumers of #FlexiblePackagingMaterial. This magic packaging solution has enabled transit of food materials across continents to serve the nutritional requirements of us humans.

The multiple layers of MLP prevent food contamination and help with transport and storage. Tetra pack, MLP (packets of potato chips, cookies, masalas, milk Powder, etc) preserve the contents and allow it to be transported all over till it reaches your kitchen.

The layers in the sheet are made of paper, paper board, polymeric materials, metalized layers, and aluminum foil. Few Billion packets of these MLP are thrown out as waste every day.

In India we discarded more than 1 million Metric Tonnes of MLP waste last year.

At Unified Intelligence Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, we use thermo-set sheets made from shredded tiny pieces of MLP waste packets to build construction grade structurally integrated panels (#SIP). These highly engineered panels have amazing mechanical and thermal properties.

A single 500 sqft. 2 BHK #Ui Home consumes 4.5 tons of ocean bound plastic waste in its walls and roofs.

We are able to keep homes cooler using the natural upward movement of air in the honeycomb channels sandwiched inside the construction panels that form the walls of a house. Scorching sun heats the walls, the air inside the panels gets warm and begins their journey upwards. From the roof of the house, this hot air evacuates through a contraption back into the atmosphere. Thus, keeping the inside of the home 100% insulated from outside temperature.

The sheets in the panels are largely plastic waste which is a natural thermal insulator. We are also able to pass cool air from an air conditioning/refrigeration system through these air channels and reduce temperature inside up to 3° C for food storage solutions.

We build terrace living spaces, double storied and triple storied structures, auditoriums, ware houses, class rooms, co-working spaces, public toilets, security cabins, etc. with our panels

The cost is always lower when compared to buildings made with conventional construction materials.

A typical brick-and-mortar building consumes 30,000 liters of water for every 1000 sq. ft. of construction. Homes made with #Ui panels do NOT use water for construction. Neither do we need river sand, reinforcement metal rods, concrete, cement and bricks to build walls and roofs with our panels.

The weight of our panels is 1/8th of the weight of a conventional wall of equal dimensions.

Construction time for Ui Homes is less than 2 weeks. Dustless and noiseless construction. The entire house comes packed from our factory in a single truck. This is then installed at site by the team. We do not use any major - large sized construction equipment.
Very well suited for sites with access challenges.

An excellent choice for coastal areas, hilly terrains, jungle lodges, estate cottages, rooftop construction.

We can train anyone on how to build their own homes using Ui Panels.

We solicit interested parties to join our ecosystem of Ui Builders- System integrators, installation partners.

Women and youth in particular can consider taking up building Ui homes as their own business

Our website: ui.ltdImage This is a small piece of the thermo-set sheet that I'm holding in my hand. These sheets are manufactured in standard 8'x4' size at thickness of 8/12/16/18/...40 mm thickness.

Shredded bits of MLP waste (tetra pack, Lays potato chips cover and other similar food products packaging) are washed and then pressed in our machines at high temperatures and pressure for a certain duration of time

During which these tiny bits fuse with each other.

After cooling, these sheets attain extremely interesting mechanical properties. They are very strong, almost unbreakable, and very easy to drive in a screw/nail. It has an extremely high nail-screw holding capacity.

The sheets can be cut into thin strips using industrial cutting-sawing machines

We arrange the strips between 2 full length sheets to construct a honeycomb shaped structure as a sandwich.

When the 2 sheets and the honeycomb structure are finally bound together, we get our modular Ui panels.Image

This incident was narrated by the then Secretary of State and NSA, Henry Kissinger, in his autobiography.Image That was the day when the Indo-US joint media address was cancelled by Indira Gandhi who walked away from the White House in her inimitable style.

Kissinger, while ushering Indira Gandhi into her car, had commented, "Madam Prime Minister, don't you feel you could have been a little more patient with the President?"
Indira Gandhi replied, "Thank you, Mr. Secretary, for your valuable suggestion. Being a developing country, we have our backbones straight - & enough will and resources to fight all atrocities. We shall prove that days are gone when a power can rule and often control any nation from thousands of miles away.”Image
