It's better if you have no knowledge of it but if you do, it won't be a blocker. As the authors of the method recommend as well, please use audios for a better and faster effect.
The challenge starts on the ❤️🔥 30th of July ❤️🔥 but you're obiously welcome to join anytime you can. The only thing is to keep it going for 3 months.
Why? This is how I did it:
I was studying #Turkish with this method for a 3-month period in total. I got to the half of the book and that was more than enough to pause the course and immerse into other methods. So it gives you 1 lesson/2 days.
You'll probably be doing 1 lesson/day at first, which is okay. Around lesson 20 it might become a bit overwhelming so you'd want to switch to 1 day of a lesson and 1 day of reviewing it and so on.
From my experience, around lesson 40-45, you might notice the vocabulary is just over your level and too difficult for what you know. For me this is the moment to pause the course. I'm still doing my Turkish Assimil from time to time but it keeps being too difficult.
Once you stop, you can pass to the active part of the course, reviewing the lessons or switch to another material. In my opinion, this book is not inteded to be done at once, with all the lessons. It's totally fine to leave it for some time. This is why it's a 3-month challenge.
After 3 months of studying only with Assimil (+I'm doing flashcards), I was able to start reading short stories (~A2).
❗️ That doesn't mean this is your level. ‼️
That means you should understand the readings at this level.
At least that was my case but also keep in mind, I learned around 900-1000 words and I definitely extended this list by searching for example usage of the words from the course. It doesn't mean you'll learn as many words from just doing the course.
And last but not least, please, don't take it as a promise. Just try it out yourself and see how is it working for you. It did for me!
And what's most important! Have fun and share your progress with the #3MAssimilChallenge 😍
