Russian reports about the "Ukrainian drone attack" on Sevastopol is most likely a false-flag operation performed by the Russians. Here's the tread explaining why 🧵
Firstly, you need to know that Sevastopol port is kinda a big deal for the Russian fleet. It's been glorified and praised for ages to create an artificial myth about the 'undefeatable Russian fleet' and similar narratives.
So, the annual parade for the Russian Fleet Day is a big thing in the occupied Crimea, being swarmed by ethnic Russians from the mainland after the occupation in 2014.
But a parade is all about celebration. And what Russian Black Fleet can be proud of? They've lost the flagman ship Moskva, and a few smaller ones, Zmiinyi Island, dozens of sailors are missing. And it's only in a few months. Not much for a party, huh?
Keep in mind that Russian authorities always prioritize a TV picture over actual reality. Canceling the expectedly weak parade in Sevastopol, they made the Baltic Fleet parade near St Petersburg a number one and only star. And we know the power of TV over the Russian minds
The parade itself was canceled ten days ago, on July 21. They kept only a few minor celebrations across the town. But now, there's no place to discuss and compare the Russian fleet "now" and "before Feb 24" at all. Because there are only losses for Russia
Another outcome of the alleged Sevastopol attack for the Russians – to shift media stories from killing over 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka, protected by the international pacts signed by Russia.
And last but not the least, when Ukrainians target Russian fleet infrastructure – we are strong and precise. Remember "Moskva", "Saratov", and Russian forces on Zmiinyi island, among other examples.
There's insignificant political or military gain in attacking the Russian fleet command center with a "self-made drone," as they report. Honestly, I don't see a point in wasting even a lousy drone if it won't eliminate the invaders.
I won't be amazed when my assumptions that it is Russians to blame for the attack on Russians will come true later. Because Russian authorities care about the lives of Russian citizens/military even less than we do. At least, Ukrainian Armed Forces never target Russian civilians

This is Grandpa Oleksandr, or Dido Sanya as we called him, my grandmother's oldest brother. He fought in World War II.

A thread
He was forcibly recruited when the Soviet Army occupied Sokal in July 1944, where he was then studying. He was only 17. In 3 months, Dido Sanya was wounded and disabled for life. So for him, the war ended, but he continued to live. He never told all details of that day to family.
"There were less than ten people left in our company," is the only thing he has ever said about his final fight. My grandmother told me this because Dido Sanya never wanted to talk about the war and always skipped the topic.

For weeks we have seen the unfair treatment of Ukrainians and content related to the Russian invasion on social media. This needs a change.

THREAD👇
Some social media platforms understand us better and support us. Some understand us worse and ban us. But, in my opinion, all of them still do not understand us enough.

What if we don't explain well? Perhaps our examples are too distant & incomprehensible for Western companies?
Okay, let's explain with unambiguous examples. Everyone knows the history of World War 2; let's use this. The Second World War examples will help explain what Ukrainians are feeling and experiencing now.

I got this story firsthand from the displaced person from Kharkiv, her family had to flee after the Russian attack. Her name is Lesya, and let me share her story.

THREAD
The war caught me in the middle of the night with a call from a colleague. The only thing he said was "It has started", and I already knew what he actually meant, because after two weeks of discussing a potential attack of Russia our documents, medicine and belongings were ready.
After the call I immediately reached my parents to say ‘Get ready’, and at the same time, it began to rumble outside. When my husband went to the garage, Kharkiv's streets began to fill with thick black smoke. But it was far away. Still far away for now.
