Every weekend I come back to Kentucky and try to purge my brain of the hypocrisy and stupidity I’ve witnessed in Congress the week before. Otherwise, it just piles up.

It’s noon on Sunday and I still haven’t purged the nonsense I dealt with in person this past week.🧵

I heard the Democrats argue vociferously that a wrist brace is a bump stock. If there was any doubt of their profound ignorance, they removed it by displaying a poster of the wrist brace and reiterated it would facilitate full-auto fire.

I witnessed almost every democrat on the Judiciary committee call the most common rifle sold in the United States a “weapon of war,” and then heard them argue passionately that the Department of Education and the USDA needed these “weapons of war.”

Last night the rules committee, controlled by Nancy Pelosi, refused to allow the House of Representatives to vote on my National Defense Authorization Act amendment which would have defunded the military COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

🧵Good governments are those which institute laws that only criminalize behavior of criminals.

A good government would not make laws that regulate most aspects of every person’s life.

Yet some pretend a more prosperous and virtuous society can result from bigger government.

🧵The fallacy that bigger government provides us a more virtuous society is found in one of two propositions:

(1) people to be governed will reliably select lawmakers more intelligent and virtuous than the average one of them to make rules regulating the behavior of all of them.

🧵 (2) a regular person, possessing all inadequacies of regular people, once elevated to a far-away lawmaking body following a regular order will he himself make better decisions for regular people than regular people could make for themselves, or than he could make for himself.

We must, should and need to remember Independence Day not once a year but every day of our lives we should be living the Declaration of Independence. Etched in our minds. Embedded in our souls.

Either we learn to govern ourselves or we will be ruled by others, our rights will become privileges conveyed only if we are obedient to the masters who we have ceded sovereignty over us.

The greatest, most earnest responsibility in our lives is to have the maturity and wisdom to govern ourselves which also requires the understanding that maybe the least just, most immoral act is to declare the right to rule or govern another person.

Neither clinical trials nor real-world data showed that “vaccinated people don’t carry the virus.”

Vaccine manufacturers convinced the FDA to give them EUA based on trials that were designed specifically to avoid testing whether vaccines prevent people from carrying SARS-CoV2.

But that didn’t stop people like the CDC director, Dr Fauci, and Joe Biden, from saying that “vaccinated people don’t carry the virus.”

This was a completely unscientific fabrication to try and get as many people as possible to take the jabs, and to rationalize immoral mandates.

When their fabrication was proven false, they told another lie: “The reason vaccinated people DO carry the virus NOW is because the virus mutated.”

If that were true, the vaccine manufacturers would have developed a vaccine responsive to the newer strains by now. They have not.
