1] Fellow citizens...

My attention has been drawn to some interesting video now making rounds on social media, posted on Twitter by Baba Jukwa, where the indefatigable Apostle Chiwenga speaks about Zimbabwean politics in general, and Advocate Nelson Chamisa in particular.
2] Must hasten to admit that I tweet this thread begrudgingly, as I seldom react to anything done by religious figures.

I've seldom commented even on their statement that may be interpreted as dovetailing with my (political) interests.

This thread is very much out of character.
3] Firstly, I remain very much concerned, as human being, by how tweets by Baba Jukwa & Prof, are continously showing signs of mental problems.

Their levels of desperation & insect stubbornness, where anyone criticizing CCC is a new found ally, are hilariously sad & frightening.
4] Impressed by how Baba Jukwa carefully edited that statement,to promote their new found agenda of deligitimizing & fighting Adv Chamisa & CCC

Yet anyone who has cared to listen to Apostle Chiwenga, knows that he is extremely unpredictable, & will embarras you sooner than later
5] Now, because I won't pretend like I'm unaware of Apostle Chiwenga's previous sermons, I give credit to his tenacity & consistency in making known, his views on anything.

Consequently, many citizens heralded him, as an ideal religious figure, always "speaking truth to power."
6] It is to that end, that I would understand why some would view criticism of his latest statement as hypocricy, seeing that he is "attacking" Adv Chamisa.

Regardless, I'll speak to some issues that came out, which cannot go unchallenged & unpacked, in the spirit of engagement
7] One positive, has to be that Apostle Chiwenga characterized his statement as "observations we have made", (whoever we is)

For a deeply religious society as ours, its noteworthy that he didn't claim to be "prophesying".

It's just an 'observation', and he's allowed to observe.
8] As for what Apostle Chiwenga eventually said, firstly, it's disappointing that even a religious figure expects people to be arrested for being Opp.

The question of why Adv Chamisa has never been arrested, or brought before ZACC, without stating any reasons for both, is sad.
9] There should be suspicion only on why innocent citizens are being arrested, not why more innocent citizens aren't behind bars.

Using Apostle's logic, why hasn't he been arrested himself, since he is extremely critical of ZanuPF, Mr EDM, and all pro-ZanuPF religious leaders?
10] If it's suspicious that Adv Chamisa isn't being arrested by the Harare regime, isn't it suspicious that Apostle Chiwenga, (related to the country's VP, General Chiwenga), isn't being arrested either?

Is there anything that the public isn't aware of, regarding the Apostle?
11] What also equally came out from Apostle Chiwenga's criticism of Adv Chamisa, is that he associates with a school of thought demanding a radical Opposition.

That school of thought equally reasons that a change of government will not come through elections, but a mass uprising
12] It is to that end, that Adv Chamisa gets criticized for "lacking spine"

The school of thought prefers radical confrontational politics, through demonstrations

Clearly, Adv Chamisa & CCC prefer pursuing a democratic change of gvt through elections, to its logical conclusion
13] The irony however is that, most of the proponents of this political school of thought, actually lack a spine themselves, and rarely spell out their prefered course of action.

At best, it's always that "Chamisa is a coward", whilst they choose their words carefully themselves
14] To this end, Apostle Chiwenga unsurprisingly never brings himself to actually publicly call for Chamisa to 'led an uprising from the front'.

Whilst claiming "Chamisa is too careful with his words", the Apostle did a 'clean job' himself, as he too choose his words carefully.
15] It's clearly only sensible for those searching for a change of gvt, to accept that CCC isn't budgeting for any uprising.

It helps noone, criticizing a cat for its inability or reluctance to bark.

Adv Chamisa is simply leading an institution pursuing what it believes in.
16] Again, Apostle Chiwenga suggests that "Chamisa is not doing #enough to help Job Sikhala".

He even labels the prison visit by Advocate Chamisa "crocodile tears".

What however doesn't escape noticing, is Apostle's reluctance in explaining what "enough to help Sikhala" means!
17] Claiming CCC has "abandoned Sikhala" is misleading

Pray he doesn't feel that way

Suggesting that it's 'not enough' to mount legal action to ensure his release would be a different story all together.
The story should however be fully told, including what would work best.
18] It's not fair for anyone purporting to have Job's interests at heart, to actually politicize his troubling incarnation.

One would think Chamisa owns spare keys to Chikurubi Max prison.

His old friend Wiwa is a father, husband, & breadwinner, who needs to be with his family.
20] It's equally misleading for Apostle Chiwenga to claim that 'Mr Chamisa is safe'.

He has survived threats on his life.
He rarely travels anywhere freely.

But above all, the fight for a new Zimbabwe shouldn't be seen as competition amongst comrades, on who has suffered most.
21] Apostle Chiwenga also makes a generalized claim that CCC is only 'focused on getting into Parly to get allowances & vehicles'

That generalized & misleading conclusion can't be coming from someone who actually knows what MPs get, nor has followed CCC conduct in Parliament.
22] A balanced view would admit that the room for improvement is yet to be filled, yet the elected individuals are doing something.

If they were there for stipends, they wouldn't have been recalled in the first place, through such illegal processes engineered by ZanuPF.
23] It's equally discouraging that the Apostle makes a wholesome attack on 'young leaders' in CCC, labeling them 'Aristotle quoting little children & clowns getting senior positions'.

A man easily betrays his motive, by their diction & generalized attack on a whole constituency.
24] Regardless, ideally, everyone who is invested in change, deserves audience.

To that end, any adoptable progressive ideas from Apostle Chiwenga "observation" should indeed be taken on board.

After all, Chamisa isn't a god.
He isn't an all knowing mythical being.

enkosi!!

1] #MorningReflection

Is it not tragic, on the part of a 'liberation movement', that while it's in government, people begin rationalizing & normalizing political persecution?

How does it happen, that we begin questioning why some Opposition leaders 'never get arrested'?
2] On the part of the Harare regime, it definitely needs to sink its revolutionary head in the sand, in shame, over how it behaves like a colonial government.

It's in that era, where opponents where hounded & made to feel like inferior human beings, let alone citizens.
3] On the part of the Citizens, the conversations on why this or that Opposition Leader doesn't get arrested while his or her colleagues do, needs to be engaged with caution.

If done otherwise, we run the risk of being left internally focused, while chasing conspiracy theories.

1] Just finished once more, watching the @ProfMadhuku interview on @HStvZim, by @bbmhlanga

I've begrudgingly decided to do a short thread response to you, @ProfMadhuku, particularly on some issues I found extremely concerning.

[Interview link below]

fb.watch/egQFOGCtUB/
2] Firstly, I must commend you @ProfMadhuku, for your consistency in being opposed to the current 2013 constitution.

At one point, you even said some unkind words towards Dr MRT regarding the issues.

You've substantiated this dissatisfaction with highlighting it's loopholes.
3] It's however ridiculous on your part Prof, to try and shield Mr Mnangagwa from criticism, over his appointment of a controversial ZEC Commissioner, on the basis that he acted within the law, since the shortlist came from our 'multi-party' Parliament.

That's extreme naivety.

1] #MorningReflection.

This submission below, by mukoma D. Mwonzora, leader of the smaller MDC-T faction makes for a very sad reading in as far as our democracy & the 2023 elections are concerned.

There are three issues raised by mukoma Dougie, that are particularly striking.
2] Firstly, mukoma Dougie makes the dangerous claim that Abigail Mohadi, was shortlisted by Parliament, on the basis of her qualifications for the ZEC Commissioners' post.

Put differently, mukoma Mwonzora is communicating that the lady in question is qualified for the job.
3] What's concerning about this assertion is that it's all propaganda.

It would've been fair, for mukoma Mwonzora, to react authoritatively, to how Abigal Mohadi actually performed during the interview, particularly because her below par performance is now in the public domain.

1] Fellow citizen, i'll do something a bit out of character, and publicly address Adv Nelson Chamisa & @CCCZimbabwe.

Adv Chamisa needs to urgently provide decisive political leadership & galvanize citizens in rejecting the nonsensical appointment of those ZEC Commissioners by ED
2] It can't be business as usual, when Mr EDM, a political competitor, appoints the daughter of his deputy, as an electoral referee.

Already, ZEC's Spokesperson, is Jaspet Mangwana, relative to Mnangagwa's Sec for Legal Affairs & Propagandist, Paul & Nick Mangwana respectively
3] It's equally troubling that the other ZEC Commissioners, Catherine Mpofu & Kudzai Shava, are allegedly related to Mnangagwa long time loyalists, Obert Mpofu & Fredrick Shava.

Add them to the list of ex-military officers currently working for the ZEC secretariat.

1] Fellow citizens, tomorrow is officially #YellowFriday

In the spirit of solidarity, let's play our own little roles, in calling out the continued persecution of CCC MPs, Godfrey Sithole, Job Sikhala, and the #Nyatsime13, arrested after the brutal murder of Moreblessing Ali.
2] In the same vein, let's use #YellowFriday to continue encouraging all eligible voters, to register & vote for change, come 2023

Past developments over the past month especially, have reinforced the desperate need to end the ruinous ZanuPF disaster, calling itself 2nd Republic
3] ZanuPF is clearly unrentling, in its use of lawfare & political persecutions against CCC leaders & supporters, to tighten its grip on the reigns of authority, and resist a democratic change of government.

#Fakapressure, is the only way to respond to these shenanigans.

1] Mukoma @DMwonzora, the whole press conference you had today, is but a reaffirmation of the fact that youre not a significant player, in as far as Zim politics is concerned.

If anything, the whole press statement sounded like your desperate attempt to craw back to relevance.
2] As for the substantive issues you raised, you raised an interesting issue

You claimed that 'councilors are not technical people who understand finer details of such deals'

How do you reconcile this, with the fact that it was your MDC dominated Council, that signed this deal?
3] How does it happen, that your party which supposedly fielded Councilors in 2018, won a majority be in council, wherein they sign deals they don't understand?

What message are you communicating to voters & citizenry of Harare, through this bizarre admission, mukoma @DMwonzora?
