First and foremost, the fact that Godot cultists call me a conspiracy theorist is nothing new. See my other thread (make sure to scroll down to see the educational video on cults):
The fact that they keep talking about me in this context is really good, because all their words and actions prove everything about Godot being a cult.
Most of the comments that you'll see there will be insinuations like "he needs help", or more direct "he's crazy", "deranged", or even "mentally-ill". This is a typical response from a cult called Godot. You can read my analysis on this here:
What they say about me is a clear and obvious violation of Godot's Code of Conduct. However, their cult behavior and libeling is seen as an acceptable conduct in Godot community as an exception by Godot's toxic leadership, especially Juan, aka @reduzio, a master of gaslighting.
1) @the_duriel says: "don't give him a voice". I was given voice since I was born. It was NOT given by @the_duriel's nor anyone else. I was born with this right. A rhetoric like this is a definitive sign of a cult.
2) @the_duriel talks about vblanco. A professional developer who got recognized in Godot community by his merit, by community of developers:
But to @the_duriel, just like to Juan, the cult leader of Godot, vblanco's merit is nothing more than "limited cognitive ability". Is this how you ostracize professional developers from Godot? 🤷♂️
3) @the_duriel says that he vehemently tried to remove vblanco from Godot's Discord. Vehemently! But Godot's CoC says: "Aggressive or offensive behavior is not acceptable." And then @the_duriel says that I get "outraged". Perhaps @the_duriel should look at himself first? 🙂
Just like me, vblanco exercised his right to be intolerant of intolerance as constantly acted out by Godot cult followers. It's like, Godot cultists see us as enemies that they need to absolutely get rid of, a manifestation of "us vs them" mentality, a sign of cult.
See anonymous reports of Godot's moderators unacceptable conduct as an example:
4) @the_duriel mentions "semantics". This is how they disregard genuine discussions that actually require those "cognitive abilities", as noted by @the_duriel about vblanco.
You can see someone's anonymous opinion at Godot community on above phenomenon. Some people (like Godot cultists) would rather not have a discussion at all, because it's easier to dismiss something using bogus reasons:
Critical thinking is discouraged in cults, and that's them who prefer discussing semantics when they are presented with facts:
Another comment I'd like to analyze, because I've never seen anything like that in Godot community. I won't say that @LeyKlussyn is insane either, I'm just a #Godoctor, not a real doctor, but here's Ley's anecdote, because it's a fascinating case for any #Godoctor to research:
1) @LeyKlussyn doesn't want to name anyone (in a thread where I'm the subject of discussion). At the same time, I have no idea about "O" guy. Interesting, who could it be?
2) @LeyKlussyn's "threats" story appear to be far fetched. I wouldn't be surprised if that "O" guy experienced the same defamation I'm currently experiencing in Godot community.
3) @LeyKlussyn says he's not a doctor. But he constantly insinuates that "O" guy has mental problems. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if his environment was actually the cause of this going "downward spiral", as @LeyKlussyn slyly depicts it.
4) @LeyKlussyn talks about "statistics". @LeyKlussyn's argument is in fact statistical and/or gambler's fallacy: if something hasn't occurred yet, then "eventually" something like this will happen in all online communities. This is also a generalization.
Notice how they don't provide any facts to justify their claims, and when they do, it's done in out of context manner. They commit logical fallacies mostly due to their own emotional position on this matter that they project onto other people.
So, I can agree on "same pattern of behavior". 😉
Godot cult followers are very predictable, if you read all my tweets on this topic:
This Godot's bigotry is very alarming. Instead discussing facts or just leaving me alone with my "craziness", as they put it, they prefer to libel me further. This is exactly how scapegoating works, which is a direct sign of a cult.
What's reassuring is the fact that around 30% of people there up-voted that thread. That means that there exists people who have critical thinking abilities. Those people WANT others to know about my story.
In my experience, at least 30% do actually agree with what I say from within Godot and Reddit communities (all posses hive mentality), but unfortunately, many prefer to stay silent. No wonder, with Godot's toxic environment, it's nearly impossible to express own opinion.
It's mostly impossible to overcome this bigotry. But again, this is not my aim. My aim is to raise awareness of this issue in order to prevent breakdowns of all the people that could fall victim to this cult.
I urge you to stay away from this cult community if you don't want to end up like me. But if this happens to you, you're not insane. On the contrary, consider this as an achievement if you're called crazy by Godot cult:
If the Reddit thread was created by someone (u/GB_2_) who actually shares my views but decided to present it that way, I'd like to thank you anyway for bringing up this topic.
I also stumbled upon this meme in a thread there. This is hilarious! I hope you get the irony behind this. Do it more!
In case the thread ends up being deleted (I doubt it), here's an archive of it:
The fact that Godot is a cult is not a problem. But when scapegoats are made like above, this makes it a destructive cult. Not as destructive as other cults out there, sure, but such scapegoating could certainly inflict (mental) harm on former members.
Here's another comment from that Reddit thread. How do they come up with such fantasies about me? 🤔
His behavior reminded me of another Godot cultist mentioning high school. What happens? Why Godot cultists are so predictable? Are they kids or what? 🤦♂️
I've stumbled upon a truly covert #GodotEngine propaganda video. I don't recommend watching it, because videos like these usually induce anxiety feelings and tend not to bring any kind of value. It's created by Godot cult follower, by the way.
They try to induce anxiety feelings, attempting to convince you that you won't be able to achieve anything in game development. Then, they overtly or covertly offer you a solution: Godot!
This is exactly how cult phobia indoctrination works.
At the same time, they will "empower" you when you end up choosing Godot. These alterations of anxiety and so called "love" mold individuality to the point that it may hurt your cognition, so you may find it difficult to discover other alternatives.
Someone at Godot subreddit says: "I know we're being called a cult and stuff..."
It's nice to see that #GodotEngine becomes more self-conscious about this. If only they could research more, but they turn it into a "sign of success". 😢
Seeing comments like these is painful, because it reminded me of myself in the past. It's exactly a rhetoric of a cultist. They turn the "cult" into a "sign of success", but instead of being proud, they belittle other engines, showing cult signs of "us vs them" mentality.
This is especially relevant if you're a Godot developer. Contributors who work on Godot don't have a clear vision for the project. When you try to reveal it, or you ask questions on Godot's governance, Godot leadership acts quite aggressive and repulsive:
I oftentimes read that #Godot's development is driven by passion and out of love for those who make games. Why not just develop #GodotEngine independently, then? Why receive donations? What, having passion is no longer enough for Godot to thrive?
This so-called "love" that the lead developer of Godot tries to portrait, Juan, aka @reduzio, is nothing more but love bombing. This "love" is accompanied by "become Patron", which makes it a truly IT cult organization which aims to milk money.
You'll read phrases like "preaching gospel of Godot" from those who donated to Godot via Patreon already. I'm not kidding, you can look at articles such as this one.
Perhaps this is the actual reason why Godot's lead developer has decided to open-source Godot in the first place, just to receive donations to buy a new PC? 😁
By the way, Juan is from Argentina (South America).
I live in Ukraine, so I totally get this sentiment. Do people tend to use open-source technology because they are poor? Perhaps it boils down to mentality and particular ideology, and it's a matter of personal choice, not limitation?
Some Godot followers keep saying to me that I should stop talking negatively about Godot, saying that this is unhealthy or excessive. The more you try to discourage me to stop this, the more this motivates me to talk negatively about Godot! 🙂
Because this amount of gaslighting and slandering as done by Godot followers is very alarming. To Godot followers, it's like I never existed in the first place... I repeat: I'm an ex-developer of Godot. You can verify this for yourself by launching Godot's "About" window.
I do not hide anything about myself. I'm a real person, with a real name.
