Frenkie de Jong

What's happening
Why's it happening
What's going to happen

This is based on the people I trust on here when collating all the info we have from every side then forming this opinion thread.

Buckle up. #MUFC #Barcelona #CFC #FDJ #frenkiedejong

A thread.
Let me start by stating one thing I'm not sure people know:

Do you know what (in my opinion) Frenkie De Jong (FDJ) wants to do in all of this, stay at Barcelona.

MINDBLOWN

For real though, but it's not that simple is it?

He also wants the money Barcelona are contracted to pay
If you don't know the situation at Barcelona you've been living under a rock, but you can see more on it here;

FDJ on a reported £354k a week (rising potentially to £450k) if he meets bonuses making him the highest paid player at Barca. That's a problem.
Widely reported that Xavi and board have asked FDJ to take a significant pay cut (up to 50%,) which he legally doesn't have to do like some others have decided to at the club.

However, FDJ HAS agreed to defer his wage meaning Barca aren't breaking any rules there FOR NOW.
Reports suggest Barcelona owe FDJ £17m & this is the big sticking point.

Assuming Barcelona opt for a third lever, get FDJ to reduce wages & get him to write off a % of the 17m + sell 49.9% of BLM & move some players many say they'd be able to keep him without issue.
However, that's a lot of things that need to happen. FDJ wants assurances Barcelona can't give without him making the changes. So, vicious circle.

I believe United have had a fee agreed, but agent and FDJ want the money they're owed before leaving, which is fair.
I do not believe he doesn't want to go to United, but I do think as I said at the start he'd prefer to stay at Barcelona. Chelsea have a fleeting interest, but nothing serious.

I also think United are weighing up if they want to pay his deferred wages.
So what now?

I think it's a coin flip if he moves as of today. Personally, I think it'd be a huge benefit to both clubs if he left. United don't want to be taken for mugs, and Barcelona are kind of using hypotheticals to cling on and remove that additional £17m of debt.

Hello, I’m back.

After my viral thread that reached 5m people, a lot of them Barca fans, here I am talking about why triggering the second lever ISN’T good news, why a third could be catastrophic & why selling De Jong and Depay has to be the move.

Buckle up

A thread...
What does triggering a lever mean?

Barcelona have already activated 2. There are so many different numbers quoted, so for the sake of Barca fans I’m using the best I can find in your favour (don’t say I don’t like you).

1st – 267m Euros

2nd – 400m

Total - 667m
As of today, all sources are unsure if that 2nd lever is enough to register ALL the new players so they can play in La Liga; Christensen Kessie, Raphinha & Lewandowski

Barcelona still owe money for those transfers. They also owe a reported 100m on existing deals + other expenses

IT'S MY OPINION that FC Barcelona are in real trouble financially, and I feel as though the footballing world isn't talking about the seriousness of their current situation enough.

We may be years away from a world without FC Barcelona.

Here's why, a thread:
You can say I'm anti-Barcelona if you want, but I'd like to think I'm just pro-information, Barcelona are a few moves away from real trouble

It's 100% my opinion, but I feel as though Bartomeu is pushing the limits because he feels as though the footballing world needs the club
La Liga's rules are throttling Barca on the European stage where they fear they can no longer contend financially. They need to rely on the clubs/league's history as the draw.

Here is some alarming info the footballing world should know about the situation at Barcelona:

Barcelona currently have a fire sale on. Players worth millions would be available for free if they could agree terms with the buying club. Everyone bar Messi it seems (despite him being out of contract) and the new signings have a price, and it's super low.
Messi is a club legend, but he's not budging on contract demands and it's impacting the entire club.

To put it in context if they let him go, they'd be 300k Euros in the green on wages + able to register all their new players (Aguero, Depay, Garcia...)
Losing Messi seems to be like the least objectional method to progress from an outsider's perspective, but it also seems the least likely.

Barcelona will try to sell; Coutinho, Pjanić, Sergi Roberto & Umtiti just to get level. Those players could be available for nearly free.
