Indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) were successfully test-fired from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun by DRDO and Indian Army at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S) Ahmednagar on 4 August
The missiles hit with precision and successfully defeated the targets at two different ranges. The all-indigenous Laser Guided ATGM employs a tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) protected armoured vehicles
ATGM has been developed with multi-platform launch capability & is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials from 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun. With today’s trials, consistency of ATGM’s capability to engage targets from min to max range has been established successfully
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has complimented DRDO and Indian Army for the successful performance of the Laser Guided ATGMs. Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr G Satheesh Reddy congratulated the teams associated with the test firing of Laser Guided ATGMs.

Jt Parliamentary Committee consulted a very large number of stakeholders. After it, Jt Committee of Parliament gave a very comprehensive report which recommended 81 amendments in a Bill that was of 99 sections: Union Min Ashwini Vaishnaw on Personal Data Protection Bill withdrawn
It was practically re-writing the entire Bill. Apart from the amendments,there were about 12 major suggestions from the committee. So to make sure that we do a very good comprehensive Bill, it was important to withdraw it & very soon we'll come out with new Bill: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Whole digital economy that we have & the way technology is changing rapidly, we need a contemporary & modern legal framework...Govt is working on it & Personal Data Protection Bill will be a part of that. So, there's an overhaul of legal framework: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

The 11th round of Foreign Office Consultations between India& South Africa was held today in Delhi; both sides reviewed bilateral relations covering political exchanges, defence, economic, commercial issues...& import of Cheetahs from South Africa for reintroduction in India: MEA
Both sides also reviewed status of MoUs/ agreements under negotiation& agreed to expedite their finalization. In light of upcoming completion of 30yrs of ties b/w the 2 countries, it was decided to celebrate, in both countries, via cultural, sports events & other activities: MEA
Both sides expressed satisfaction over growth in bilateral trade- $17 bn in 2021-22 & agreed on the importance of further diversifying their trade. Indian side also reiterated its invitation to SA to join Int'l Solar Alliance & Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure: MEA
