Armenian-American Dr. Raymond Vahan Damadian, the inventory of the MRI scanning machine passed away yesterday at the age of 86.
Dr. Damadian was born in March of 1936 to #ArmenianGenocide survivor Vahan and Odette Damadian.
He grew up in New York & became a licensed physician, medical practitioner, mathematician, and inventor.
Dr. Damadian was the first ever to perform a full-body scan of a human being on July 3, 1977, to diagnose cancer. Despite his success, he was denied the Nobel Peace Prize.
Today, the MRI is considered the one of the greatest medical breakthroughs of the 20th century, and his invention has undoubtedly impacted, saved, and prolonged millions of lives.
Timothy Damadian, Dr. Damadian's son and President and CEO of FONAR, said, "Dr. Damadian was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great grandfather, a brother, an uncle, & a friend to many. He leaves behind 3 adoring children, nine grandchildren, & three great-grandchildren."

Artsakh Parliamentary factions rule out Peaceful coexistence with Azerbaijan
Following the recent developments of the last few days, the 5 factions of Artsakh’s National Assembly published a statement, in which they ruled out peaceful coexistence of Artsakh within Azerbaijan.
The statement called on parliaments around the world and international organizations to condemn Azerbaijan for their crimes and take strict measures to prevent similar acts from taking place again.

Suneh Abrahamian traveled to Armenia on July 31st to participate in ARF youth summer camps for children in Syunik. Upon arriving to Zvartnots International Airport in Armenia, she was taken into a small room for interrogation.
After 12 hours without any explanation, she was denied entry into Armenia.
The ARF Youth Office in a statement condemned the denial of entry of Suneh Abrahamian and called for the National Security Service of Armenia to take appropriate measures regarding the incident
A former Artsakh Defense Army commander has been arrested today, according to the the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia reports.
The report stated that the colonel who held the post of commander from November 2019 to October 4, 2020, committed numerous violations while on combat duty.
For example, on September 26, 2020, this said commander organized a dinner dedicated to the day of the formation of a military unit, with the participation of about 100 officers.
During an extraordinary session of the National Assembly of Artsakh, MP Artur Moisyan published the text of the statement of the National Assembly, which rejects any status for Artsakh other than self-determination.
Artsakh's National Assembly unanimously adopted the statement.
• Any process of forcible annexation of Artsakh to Azerbaijan within the framework of the "peace agenda" between Yerevan and Baku will destroy the statehood of the NKR and violate the inalienable right of the people of Artsakh to live in their historical homeland.
• The current political and legal status of Artsakh was formed through the expression of the will of the people of Artsakh during 3 referendums, on the basis of the adopted Constitution and through the establishment of nationwide unity between the various parts of the Armenians.

Artur was an ethnographer and historian by profession but also served the people of Artsakh as a statesman and politician.

a leader, and a soldier. Artur Mkrtchyan participated in numerous military operations, meetings, and additional negotiation efforts for the independence of Artsakh.
