[THREAD] - Health Status in Gaza

For the second day, #Israel is targeting overcrowded residential areas, where the number of victims has reached 13, including a 5-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman, and 114 civilians have been wounded with various injuries.

From the beginning of Israel's brutal aggression, the MoH declared a state of emergency in all hospitals, particularly emergency departments, operations, critical care units, and ambulance stations.

The Israeli airstrikes target residential areas, increasing the number of children, women, and civilians killed and critically injured.

Due to the Israeli blockade that has lasted 15 years, medical staff at hospitals are forced to work with insufficient resources that are below 40% of the total capacity.

The pharmaceutical situation at the MoH is at its worst in years, with 40% of key pharmaceuticals in short supply, 32% of medical consumables in short supply, and 60% of laboratory and blood bank supplies in short supply.

The ongoing closure of the Beit Hanoun checkpoint in front of the movement of patients' treatment abroad, as well as the inability to enter life-saving cases, worsens their health state, particularly for patients with tumors and heart disease facing an uncertain destiny.

The Israeli occupation continues to ban the entry of 24 diagnostic x-ray machines, as well as replacement parts required to repair other damaged devices that are critical in delivering immediate interventions to the wounded in emergency departments, surgeries, and intensive care.

With the suspension of the power plant in the Gaza Strip, the MoH announces the start of a 72-hour countdown to the shutdown of health services, adding that the next hours are critical and tough.

In light of the developments in the field, the MoH announced the suspension of activity in all external clinics and planned surgeries, to provide access to emergency operations for victims of continuing violence.
