🟣 Villa - Very, very disappointing performance in GW 1. Can they bounce back vs Everton?
💎 Man City - Total control. Extremely solid defensively and sharp in attack. Triple up ✅
🔵 Chelsea - Looking good for clean sheets, not as good for goals however
GW 1 Notes - Players ✍️
🔴 Nunez - Another incredible cameo, Nunez completely changed the game vs Fulham. Potential game changer in FPL.
💎 Haaland - Yeah, he’s adjusted to the league. Superb player, as we already know. Just get him in your team.
GW 2 Fixture to Target 🎯
💎 Man City vs: BOU (H)
This game could easily end in a 5-0 win for City. Yes, Bournemouth beat Villa in GW 1 but they’ll be up against something completely different this week. Cancelo, Dias, Walker, Foden, KDB and Haaland are all great picks.
GW 2 Player Recommendation:
Phil Foden started GW 1 and as he’s capable of playing both LW and RW, I expect him to start again vs Bournemouth. Given just how great that fixture is, Foden might be the best ’one week punt’ out there, but also fine to keep for GW 3-5.
GW 2 Player to Avoid:
I didn’t really like what I saw from Bukayo Saka in GW 1, mainly due to the fact that he basically played right wingback for parts of the game. Unless that changes, Saka is a clear avoid for me right now. Martinelli is definitely the better value pick.
GW 2 Tips 💡
🔹If you have Haaland (or are comfortable captaining Salah), rolling the transfer is the move.
🔹Don’t draw too many conclusions based on GW 1 only, it’s just 1 GW’s worth of data. Incredibly small sample size.
GW 2 Captaincy
1) Erling Haaland - 💰11.6
Fixture: BOU (H)
Cashed in on his xG numbers in GW 1, and showed what an incredible player he is. Fixture wise it doesn’t get much better than Bournemouth (H), so Haaland is no doubt the standout captain this week.
2) Mohamed Salah - 💰13.0
Fixture: CRY (H)
If you don’t own Haaland or maybe don’t trust the Norwegian’s minutes, Mo Salah is a completely viable alternative for captaincy. Quality player, obviously, and the fixture isn’t bad.
GW 2 Captaincy - Differential
Darwin Nuñez - 💰9.0
Fixture: CRY (H)
Not many will go for Nunez (C), but there’s definitely potential for a haul here. He should start, and we’ve seen what he can do when coming off the bench. For the mega risk taker.
The most obvious fixture to target, and considering Liverpool’s great fixtures the first 7 GWs, a triple up seems almost essential. Salah, Trent and one of Robbo/Diaz/Nunez 🔒
GW 1 Player Recommendations:
GK 🧤
🔴 Ramsdale (5.0)
Arsenal have very good fixtures and have really impressed in preseason. Should get a good amount of clean sheets in the first 8 GWs, and Ramsdale offers saves and bonus points potential as well. Standout GK pick for me.
First of all, I’d just like to make it clear that this is not a list of who I think will score the most points (that would just mean picking all the premiums), it’s a list of my favourite FPL picks. Value for money is therefore a big consideration, as well as other factors.
🔟 Neco Williams (4.0) 🔴
While we can’t expect a lot of clean sheets from Nottingham Forest, Williams is still a good pick (mainly for the low price tag). For only 4.0m, we get a starting wingback with decent attacking threat. The perfect 5th defender.

5️⃣ Mendy (5.0) 🔵
When the prices were released Mendy seemed like a bargain, with a price tag a whole million lower than last year. However, I don’t believe that Chelsea’s fixtures are great from a defensive point of view and with The Blues’ defence having looked shaky...
Jamie started the season with a 1m GW 1 rank and was still outside the Top 900k after GW 5. A huge 107 points score in GW 9 saw him break inside the Top 100k, where he stayed for the rest of the season.
He did, however, drop to 71k in GW 15 after 2 difficult GWs, before he went on a massive 7 GWs long streak of green arrows, which saw him rise all the way from 71k to 113th.
He went on to triple captain Salah in GW 26 for an 84-pointer, which took him all the way up to 33rd...
