It was a big day for Bollywood on Thursday as two of the highly anticipated projects, #LaalSinghChaddha and #RakshaBandan premiered on August 11 amid huge fanfare. So, how did the films perform on their opening day?

Akshay Kumar starrer 'Raksha Bandhan' marked the actor's third outing in 2022. His previous two films, 'Bachchhan Paandey' and 'Samrat Prithviraj' were disasters at the box office. So, this film's success is important for him. Image

The opening day of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' fetched the makers Rs. 10-11 crore. Though it had a slow start in the morning, the film saw more footfalls post afternoon which helped in a double-digit figure record. Disappointingly, it did not perform well in the Hindi circuits. Image
'Raksha Bandhan' had a pretty bad opening day as it minted Rs. 8cr, which is lesser than Kumar's previous 2022 movies 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Bachchhan Paandey.' Though the film showed more progress than 'Laal Singh Chaddha' post afternoon, its box office figures are worrisome. Image

Tragically, things don't seem to be looking well for comedian-actor #RajuSrivastava, who suffered a major heart attack on Wednesday in New Delhi. The 58-year-old was immediately rushed to AIIMS and has been put on a ventilator, due to his condition.

The Fortune Global 500 is the list of the top 500 corporations in the world based on their revenue. In the 2022 edition of the list published by Fortune magazine, nine companies from India have found their place. LIC led the pack at the 98th position.

Being included in Fortune Global 500 list is a prestigious accomplishment for corporations. Indian companies have fared markedly better this time with LIC breaking into the top 100 & Reliance Industries, the country's biggest company by market capitalization, jumping 51 places.
The 2022 #fortuneglobal500 list saw a surprise with LIC making its first appearance. The Indian insurance giant, which launched its IPO earlier this year, posted revenue of $97.26 billion with a profit of $553.8 million. It surpassed Reliance which is placed 104th on the list.
