A 3rd wave of covid infections in India is unavoidable and may hit the country within 8 weeks, AIIMS chief Dr. Randeep Guleria said. The vitality of the new wave however, would depend upon vaccination coverage and level of adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
newsbytesapp.com/news/india/aii…
Dr. Guleria added, "As we have started unlocking, there is again a lack of COVID-appropriate behavior. We don't seem to have learned from what happened between the 1st and the 2nd wave." He further said, "It all depends on how we go ahead in terms of COVID-appropriate behavior."
So will this wave affect children more? A recent seroprevalence study was done by #WHO and AIIMS on 10,000 samples. Citing that, the Indian govt asserted that the level of antibodies was similar in both adults and children. So, the new wave might affect every age group equally.

The Indian government's Press Information Bureau has denied the claims. "Several posts/videos claiming that #COVID19 #vaccines can make people magnetic. COVID-19 vaccines do NOT make people magnetic and are completely SAFE (sic)," the PIB wrote on Twitter, with a video message.

While looking into pneumonia cases, scientists in Malaysia have found a new type of coronavirus that can infect humans. It is an alphacoronavirus, which mostly infects cats and dogs. #CoronavirusPandemic
newsbytesapp.com/news/world/dog…
A study published by Malaysian researchers said an alphacoronavirus was isolated from a human pneumonia patient. Out of the 301 samples of hospitalized pneumonia patients in Malaysia, between 2017 and 2018, eight samples (2.7%) were found to be carrying the novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, a virologist at the Ohio State University confirmed that the virus was a canine coronavirus, earlier thought to be non-transmissible to humans. However, since the majority of the genome was canine coronavirus, it is likely the virus jumped directly from dogs to humans.
