Id probably go with this tomorrow given a) its @ VP b) SG needs the win and c) no reason why the selection & shape shouldn’t be an attacking one.
Chambers in for Konsa (ball progression is so much better), Emi & PC can play together, go all in.
Creating chances is the big issue, heres how you could solve it. In possesion #avfc need to get EB & PC in the no 10 positions given their passing vision, this needs LD & MC to commit to box runs with timing (1 at a time though), this adds men into the box with OW & LB.
Occupancy of the #everton defensive line is key here. No need for BK to be deep in the build up he could be further forward, covering off LFB zone with JM doing the same on the right, but still being a passing option higher up the pitch…
Kamara’s touchmap again points to him being a little too deep, yet he did push on to support play but just not enough. He can fill more of the left half space in the latter stages of the build up play, does question whether players are starting to get in each others way…
…in the final stages of the build up. Where does PC ideally want to be positioned? Is he suffering in this side due to lack of threatening passing options? Are there properly coordinated runs off the ball from LB, OW/DI & the FB’s? Will EB and PC try to occupy similar spaces?
Looking at the #avfc passing network from last weeks game BK’s average position becomes clearer. He can push up more when the ball is higher no need for him to be that deep. IMO pretty much the whole team is, on average, too deep. AR, JM & BK the biggest culprits.
In Summary
• Attacking shape
• Fortune favors the brave- EB & PC both in the starting Xl
• OW over DI, #everton CB’s panic when pressed.
• BK & JM in the half spaces as passing options, JM providing 3rd man runs when applicable.
• Central build up, FB’s involved when high.
