"As a Black, Trans, Gay, Disabled Person..."

Want to know why the woke make everything about race, sex, and gender? Or why they bring up race, sex or gender when discussing things that have nothing to do with race, sex, or gender?

Let's talk about "identitizing"

A thread🧵
2/
Identitizing is a term I coined to describe taking a thing (a book, movie, song, experience, food, anything) and cashing out the significance, and meaning of that thing in terms of the social identity of either the person who made the thing or the person interpreting the thing
3/
When someone makes what they do about their race, sex and gender, even when those things are unrelated...or when they ground the meaning and significance of their emotions and experience in their race, sex, or gender, that is the process of "identitizing."
4/
At the root of this phenomenon are 2 ideas:

1. A thing is meaningful because it is connected to a social identity such as: race, sex, or gender

2. The ability to understand a thing is a product of whether or not a person has the right identity (IE right race, gender, or sex)
5/
I think the emergence of identitizing is what happens when the flattening of meaning that occurs in a postmodern world meets the widespread acceptance of identity politics. I’d like to explain how this occurs, and why I think identitizing leads to greater social fragmentation.
6/
As I explained in the thread below, in a postmodern world nothing is seen to be inherently good, true, beautiful, right, excellent, wonderful, valuable, or worthwhile. Everything is deconstructed, and thus meaning gets totally flattened out.

7/
The woke try to get out of this by arguing that cannot deny nor deconstruct the experience that another person has, you cannot “deny my experience” as they say. The woke theorists then tie experience to identity by arguing that all experiences are interpreted by people...
8/
from a particular perspective, and that perspective is a product of their social position as determined by their sex, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. They then conclude that only thing that cannot be deconstructed is experience interpreted through identity...
9/
as identity is understood by wokeness. This is why the woke will often preface everything they say with some version of “speaking as a trans, black, disabled, woman of colour….” they are establishing the identity through which they are interpreting their experience.
10/
Since the woke deconstruct everything except experience interpreted through the lens of identity, the only thing left upon which they can try to build meaning is identity. This means for the woke in order for a thing to have meaning it must be connected some social identity.
11/
Books are read from a black/white/hispanic view.
Emotions are felt as a Black/white/hispanic person.
A song has value because it came from black/white/hispanic culture.
If you don’t get it, that's cause it’s a black/white/hispanic thing, and you're not black/white/hispanic
12/
This means there's no universal things to bind us together. There's no universal human emotions we can reference to understand each other. There's no universal experiences we can share. There's no absolute, objective point of reference from which we can create shared meaning
13/
The only way to insulate meaning from deconstruction by tying it to identity.

Identity is the lamb’s blood on the doorway of experience that causes the deconstructive angel of the death meaning to pass over whatever meaning a person wants to protect from deconstruction.
14/
At some point the need to communicate is going to require people break to strangle hold wokeness has on society. If we continue to act like the communication of the deepest meaning of life is impossible for people of different social identities society will disintegrate.
15/
Thanks for reading.

I wrote a free essay about this on substack. You can read that if you want a more thorough breakdown of identitizing.

So, I'm a visiting fellow at @amrenewctr where I wrote their anti-CRT activist handbook for k-12. I work closely with @russvought, @realchrisrufo, and James Lindsay, and I'm one of the largest counter-woke/anti-CRT accounts on this site.

I'd like to say something about this👇

Before we get going we need to understand that according to research by @JonHaidt, conservatives and moderates are able to understand liberals much better than liberals are able to understand conservatives. This will be key going forward.

From "The Righteous Mind," p334: ImageImage

As @JonHaidt points out, it is those who describe themselves as "very liberal" who are least able to understand conservatives.

The biggest advantage I have over CSJ advocates is that I underatand their views, and they haven't got a clue what my side thinks.

Let me explain.

This person isn't crazy; they followed the logic of Radical Gender Ideology to its conclusion, and if you follow the logic of Radical Gender Theory to it's conclusion this answer you end up with.

The problem isn't this person's logic, the problem is their worldview is absurd...
If you start with an absurd premise, you end up with an absurd conclusion.

That's what happened here.

This person accepted every absurd premise of Radical Gender Theory, followed them to to their final conclusion, and ended up with an absurd answer...
This person is being perfectly consistent.

The problem is this person accepted the postmodern worldview latent in Queer Theory/Radical Gender Theory, and once they did that the absurd conclusions followed the way night follows day.

This is where wokeness eventually ends up....

The NYT says the search of Mar-a-Lago was about possible classified documents.

I don't know the law here; but, since institutional trust is at an all-time low, if the FBI screwed up here what's left of that trust will be completely gone.

And that is a very scary thing...
We are already pushing institutional trust to the brink. We can't keep doing this. If this turns out to be a minor violation of a records keeping code, or some other technicality, the FBI will have totally obliterated its credibility.

Trump left office in 2021, how is it that...
the FBI is doing a search for those documents now?

What happened that made them say "ok, it's been 20 months, time to search for the Docs"? What makes the FBI so sure that after 20 months the docs still exist?

There are a lot of questions here that really need answering.

My friend James Lindsay was permanently banned from twitter today.
An activist weaponized the rules by filing reports until something stuck.

We need to talk about why they went after James specifically.

A thread🧵
2/
@ConceptualJames is in many ways the intellectual lighthouse, compass, and anchor of the counter-woke movement.

He dug up all the academic work that underpinned the wokeness we now see, and exposed the fact that academia had been hijaked in the service of a political agenda.
3/
James, @peterboghossian, and Helen Pluckrose got absurd papers published in prestigious academic journals by using woke reasoning to come to conclusions that flattered the ideological biases of woke academics.

Below, James describes how absurd the papers they published were👇

One way the woke try to take over society is by using social pressure. They publicly call-out and attack people to make them feel like society is rejecting them.

See the photo below? They want people feel like all of society is doing that to them.

So, "Call-outs"

A Thread🧵
2/
Call-Outs are not the same as cancel culture (but they can be related).

Cancel culture is when people try to get someone fired or de-platformed in order to punish them what they said. Cancel culture is about punishing people economically and professionally to silence them.
3/
Call-outs on the other hand operate using a very different set of mechanisms: social pressure, the sense of hyper-visibility we feel when we are humiliated in public, and fear of large scale social rejection.

These are the mechanisms of "call-outs"

Let's talk about them.

Dictionaries/wikipedia changing the meaning of words in order to help the left win arguments.

A thread🧵

@Cernovich gives us our first example: wikipedia redefining "recession" to help Democrats👇

When Republicans put Amy Coney-Barret on the Supreme court the left chaged the meaning of "court-packing" and dictionary .com went along with it. ImageImage
3/
Speaking of Amy Coney-Barret...

When Amy Coney-Barret used the term "preference" wbile discussing sexual orientation the left pretended that "preference" was offensive, and Merriam-Webster changed the definition in order to make that lie stick👇 ImageImage
