Of the Assemblymembers who did not vote on SB1479, only about a half a dozen appear to be true abstentions as opposed to members who were absent from the session.

I watched the @mvwschools Board of Trustees meeting tonight. It was about what you would expect from a district where a principal called the police on a 4-year-old for daring to show his face at school. 🧵

The superintendent announced tonight that masks won't be required starting tomorrow for kids like the one in the video. Yay! However, they will still be required in some situations, like for kids playing wind instruments and singing. 🤯 Image

This SF Bay Area public school has chosen to impose its own mask mandate. The principal called the police on a four-year-old for attempting to attend school bare-faced. They are never going to stop coming after our kids. @mvwschools

The CA Legislature has been on break for the month of July. Tomorrow they will restart the push to have bills pass before the August 31 deadline. Update on the 10 bad bills I’ve been tracking. 🧵
Let’s congratulate ourselves for killing half of these bills. 👏
* SB871 - Vax mandate for ages 5+
* SB920 - Medical board access to medical records
* AB1993 - Vax mandate for adults
* SB1464 - Police enforcement of public health orders
* SB1390 - Misinformation on social media
* SB866 - Vax for ages 15+ without parental knowledge. This was amended from 12+. On the agenda for the Assembly Floor session Aug 1, but it may be postponed if they don't have the votes. Call your Assembly Member Monday morning and ask for a no vote!

- Restrictions on our liberties, no matter how small, must be shown to do more good than harm. “Non-pharmaceutical interventions,” such as lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and mask mandates, have failed to prevent the spread of covid and have done tremendous harm to our society.
