1/4 Kudos to @WalmartInc — the nation’s largest employer, proudly Arkansas-headquartered — for stepping up to expand abortion coverage for its employees. This will save lives put at risk by intrusive and regressive laws forced by extremists.
2/4 Abortion has long been highly regulated in Arkansas. But Sarah Huckabee Sanders wants choice limited to legislators, not a woman with her doctor, family & faith. So extreme, Sarah won’t permit exceptions for rape, incest or even to save a woman’s life.
3/4 Sanders has long been a chaos creator — a divisive figure in DC politics that refuses to bring people together or seek common ground.
Instead, she seeks to exploit differences for political gain, leaving in her wake division between neighbors. msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-…
4/4 As an ordained minister, husband and #GirlDad, I approach this issue with thought, compassion and care. I refuse to use it as a wedge issue that divides us even more deeply.
Government-mandated pregnancies and forced birth must be stopped.
2/4 The next year, Enrique Tarrio, one of the Charlottesville radicals, became chair of the Proud Boys, a white supremacist domestic terrorist organization.
Soon he was embraced – not scorned – by D.C. political elites like Sanders, smiling here with Tarrio at the Trump Hotel.
3/4 Today, the Radical Right IS united. No longer "alt," they have power in Congress and state legislatures. They exert influence here in Arkansas.
Tarrio was indicted for conspiracy and other offenses related to the J6 U.S. Capitol insurrection.
Too often, when politicians running for office have no solutions for Arkansans, they misinform, divide and are dishonest. Unfortunately, Sarah is being dishonest. Poll-tested talking points may sound good, but miss what’s really been going on… 1/4
Many teachers were sick, there weren’t enough subs, and schools were beyond strained. Along with parents, local districts made the tough choices to close in order to keep kids safe. They followed the science and made hard decisions. That’s the way it should be. 2/4
I hope Sarah isn’t saying that she would override a local community’s decision and snatch, right from their hands, its freedom to keep kids safe. Finger pointing gets us nowhere. Listening brings out the best in us. 3/4
