Friends with POTS- let's start a thread in how to stay hydrated. Let's share tips and tricks. I'll go first- Balancing getting enough water + salt + potassium has been a game changer. Here is how I do it (affordably)... 1/
First thing I do every morning is make a shake that is mostly ice, 3 strawberries or other fruit equivalent, 1/4 cup coconut water, 1 tablespoon sugar/sugar substitute, lemon juice, chia seeds that had been soaking. It's super light and delicious 2/
I make and drink a lot of soup with soup mix and salt. Lots of sodium! 3/
I make my own pickles and snack on them during the day. I put 2 teaspoons of salt in a small cup and try to use it up by the end of the day.
I got a soda maker and add sparkling water to shakes and drinks- the bubbles feel like it makes the drinks lighter and more refreshing
@pkahuja_tweets told me about nimbu shihanji, I made it today and I love it. This is the only way I actually enjoy drinking salty water
If you feel like this is too much prep- I feel you.try to do one thing a day until you find something that works. Usually I will feel better within minutes and it can change my day.
Spinach has a lot of potassium! I try to add it in as much as I can. It can be expensive though. Bananas are also good but they are very high in sugar so I don't have too much
