🧵/ link in the last thread. I spoke with yet another soldier from 64th Motor Rifle Brigade. Petr Danilov is suspected by Ukraine of committing atrocities in Bucha. He claims he was not there and describes the scale of catastrophe the Russian army experienced near Kyiv.
Here’s the guy. He sent me his military ID and other docs proving he was dismissed from the army back in 2018 and never signed the contract again (he was fired for abuse of power and even prosecuted and got probation).
Here are his dismissal documents dated 2018 and his ID with matching entries about dismissal.
SBU and GUR (UA military intel) utilizing old personnel lists in nothing new, so let’s jump to the interesting part: his description of what happened with 64th brigade near Kyiv, based on his talks with his former colleagues (historical illustrative photo dated 2012)
Danilov still is in permanent contact with the people from the 64th brigade and he agreed to tell me their [grim] thoughts about this war.
Earlier we published an article about the combat losses of the 64th brigade. Danilov confirms that those losses are huge. He also says that the 64th brigade was even more understaffed than I was told by my previous interlocutor.
"Go, scare the people, everyone will scatter, then you’ll come back”, commanders told them. In fact, everything turned out differently. Ukraine showed character, the Armed Forces of Ukraine resisted and these expectations failed", – says Danilov.
"They expected the Crimea-2014 scenario. No assault tasks, just a quick march to Kyiv. It was wrong. Ukraine resisted and showed the will to fight back".
"I know my brigade and the people out there, they had no desire to "liberate someone from the Nazis", they didn’t know anything at all about the fact that they would have to "liberate" someone”, – says Petr Danilov.
He also says the remaining soldiers of his brigade are scared of 2 things: US MRLS systems and drones. "When Shoigu says that we don’t move quickly because we want to minimize collateral damage, it’s bullshit. Soldiers are exhausted and have no will for another offensive".
At the same time, Danilov is skeptical about the Ukrainian counter-offensive too. "We are still far ahead in artillery and ammo, and we know all Ukrainian positions and possible vectors of their counter-attacks well".
There’s more inside, so don’t hesitate to click and Google translate from Russian. "This war should be ended as soon as possible", says the guy. You may like or not what he says, but one should be very brave in Russia to speak openly on the matter. svoboda.org/a/tupo-net-sil…

Look, there's a bunch of S-300/400 missiles under the Christmas tree! Imagery @planet, taken this morning. Historical imagery shows canisters and missiles appeared in the field on the left image not earlier than August 15.
🧵 Russian tourists reveal S-400 air defense systems positioned near Yevpatoria. AD is active nearly every day in this area according to local authorities. Geolocation 45.180317, 33.232232
Satellite imagery by @planet shows that the AD appeared here from July 15th till July 22. Photos above made on July 27, photos in @COUPSURE's thread on July 31.
This geolocation and photos were quite easy to find/confirm cause those AD systems are not hiding at all and are positioned not far from the beach. Drivers in the cabins can be noticed.
1/5 New satellite images by @planet, taken this morning, show what may be a new damage to Antonovsky bridge in Kherson after August 14th HIMARS strike. August 7th/August 19th images comparison. The strikes are damn precise and hit exactly the same part of the bridge every time.
2/5 I'm not 100% sure August 19th image shows new damage, but I lean to say it does. Also looks like some repair equipment is again visible on Augist 19th image (a crane?)
3/5 Here's the animation showing how this part of the bridge changed after Ukrainian strikes and Russian efforts to repair them, images on this video are taken on July 9, July 30, August 1, August 7, August 19th.
Quick 🧵/ link in the last tweet. Ukraine claims it totally destroyed former SBU office in Lysychansk, used as a headquarters by Russian troops (t.me/luhanskaVTSA/5…). Before/after. Head of Lugansk oblast, Sergey Hayday, claims 100+ killed, Russians confirm just 5 + 4 missing.
Let’s check the claim. First of all let’s find on Wikimapia where this SBU building was - 48°55'3"N 38°25'28"E.
Now let’s check the aftermath of the strike footage – yep, it matches the Google user uploaded street view, rare for this part of Ukraine.
There's a video claimed to be filmed month ago near Azovskaya railway station (t.me/military_u/6277). Multiple Russian MLRS systems and ammo, matches the approximate location of today explosions in Mayskoye. I geolocated it here: 45.589687, 34.565742
There are reports of a damaged railroad, but I'm not sure it's connected and I was not able to geolocate this place yet.
There's yet another claimed-to-be-recent video of Russian military equipment in the open field near Dzhankoj. It can be easily geolocated here, in Stepnoye 45.672275, 34.384016 It's 2 km from Dzhankoj and 15,5 km from Mayskoye.
