The California Age-Appropriate Design Code introduced by @BuffyWicks & @Cunning_Jordan ensures that sites kids typically visit will be safe for them. No risks for kids = no risks for businesses. (2)
The crucial protections of the California Bill #AB227 are already in effect in the UK and other countries where companies adapt and thrive. CA kids deserve the same protections granted to other kids. (3) 
Last century we fought to protect children from the violence of industrial capitalism. Status quo obstructionists argued against change with the same rhetoric around today. Same show, new century. But children’s rights did win and paved the way for a better future for all. (4)
#SurveillanceCapitalism ate the world because democracy stood down, failing to protect us from digital violence. Our children are canaries in the digital coal mines unprotected from surveillance, addictive design, dark patterns, behavior modification... Enough is enough. (5)
