@American_Heart @JACCJournals 1⃣ The #ACCClinicalDoc presents a clinical lexicon of data elements related to #ChestPain & #cvAMI, in context of how the terms are used in the 2021 AHA/ACC/ASE/CHEST/SAEM/SCCT/SCMR #ClinicalGuideline for the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Chest Pain: bit.ly/3CIBldf

2⃣ This lexicon follows the plans contained in the new #chestpain guideline and NOT all conceivable types and causes of chest pain are considered here. #ClinicalGuidelines @JACCJournals

3⃣ This lexicon is designed to focus on serious #cardiovascular causes of #ChestPain as they might be encountered in emergency departments. 🚑#EmergencyMedicine

4⃣ Data elements for etiology of #ChestPain syndromes are enumerated for potentially serious cardiac, as well as certain noncardiac, causes.

5⃣ Data elements are grouped into 3 broad categories as outlined in the new guideline: #ChestPain, myocardial injury, and myocardial infarction (#MI). #cvMI

6⃣ Data elements for patient demographics, history, #cardiovascular risk factors, laboratory testing, and #revascularization or other therapies are NOT included in the document.

7⃣ The terms “typical” & “atypical” as descriptors of #ChestPain or anginal syndromes are not used. In keeping with the new chest pain guideline, the terms “cardiac,” “possible cardiac,” & “noncardiac” are used.

8⃣ Data elements for risk stratification scoring according to several common risk scoring algorithms are included in the document.

9⃣ Data elements for procedure-related myocardial injury and procedure-related #MI are included in the document. #cvMI #cvAMI
