I know there are valid security/privacy issues for some ppl on twitter to use a pseudonym. I have no problem with that... My problem is with the many single issue (slam a candidate) ones that are proliferating in #YYJPoli

Their raison d'etre for being anonymous; is so that they can say anything about anybody; without being accountable in any way. I find this truly reprehensible.

I follow many of them (the ones that haven't yet blocked me); not because I support them; but just to witness the depths to which they will descend in their attack tweets. #YYJPoli

As a general rule, I try to respond to the message; not the messenger; but in numerous examples we are now seeing, I don't think it's worth it. They are pretty easy to spot and not worthy of anyone's time to engage with.

So, going forward in #YYJElxn discussions; if you won't give your name; and don't give me an valid reason for why you won't; I shan't be responding. My dm's are open should you wish to explain yourself and engage in convo.

I will ignore your inflammatory hate tweets, however your PR coaches try to couch it in conciliatory (just asking) language.

Of course, I will make some exceptions. (and this is what I'm grappling with/my dilemma) When such attack accounts publish obvious mistruths - do I call the out? give more weight to their so-called arguments?

If they are maligning me... I couldn't give a gosh darn; but if they are attacking some one else.... I have a hard time letting that go.
And I think that is exactly what these bands of trolls are counting on- to get the attention they want-

That we will get so caught up in trying to have a reasoned convo; or that they will succeed in wasting our time in trying to do so.

What think you all #YYJ #YYJPoli peeps? How can we keep our eye on the prize.. of having reasoned #YYJElxndebate; with this mob of very purposeful and organized disruptors?
