The Nitro migration is complete 🏎 congrats @arbitrum!

Short refresher on the most advanced rollup stack - the Nitro Stack👇
Nitro is a massive upgrade. It enables the Arbitrum engine to be written & compiled in standard languages.

But what does this mean for YOU?

⚡  Faster transaction
🤑  Lower fees
🙌  Better user experience for dApps
How much faster?

The Arbitrum team estimated a 20-50x increase in layer 2 execution speed.

Go try it out for yourself! Vroom vroom 🏁
Essentially the upgrade introduces a new stack that:

- Enables WASM fraud proofs
- Replaces the custom-built EVM with Geth
- Slims down and rewrites the Arb0s component in Go
Together, these major innovations create a familiar but extremely performant Ethereum experience for both developers & users:

- Increased Ethereum composability 🌐
- Improved cross-chain communication 🌉
- A new batching & compression system to minimize L1 costs 💸
And the cherry on top? 🍒

The upgrade was completely seamless for both devs & users!

Thats right - no migrating dApps or assets 👏
Hats off to the Arbitrum team on the upgrade! This is massive step forward & they’re just getting started.

We can’t wait to deploy @vertex_protocol using the Nitro Stack

2/10 So where have we been? Talk is cheap and we rather get sh*t done than talk (looking at you CT)… that said, we are pumped to share what we have been working on. (Sorry, not sorry. xx)
3/10 Our mission is simple: make decentralized trading useful and accessible for all. This means more control for users and no sacrifices on performance and convenience.

It’s been a pretty heavy 2 months for crypto...

Meanwhile, the @vertex_protocol team has been grinding on the future of #DeFi and it looks 🔥

Have you ever wanted a more integrated, CEX-like experience on-chain?

Here’s how we plan to bring it to @arbitrum 👀

1/🧵 Image
2/ First, this is a long thread.

So, TLDR, here’s what we’re building:

✅Spot, perps & borrow/lend
✅Cross-margining between products
✅An on-chain orderbook

Combined into one robust & capital-efficient protocol...
3/ All on a fast, easy-to-use UI/UX with features for crypto natives & newcomers alike.

👉 non-custodial email/web2 login options, native bridges, on/off ramps and more….

1/ Outstanding derivatives positions in FX equate to $90-100 trillion. If we can capture just 0.1% of that...

🧵Thread on how @vertex_protocol is being carefully crafted to onboard the next $100b in $UST market cap.
2/ At the heart of Vertex is its design; namely, perpetual swaps and a virtual AMM (vAMM) model.

Both are highly optimized for on-chain FX markets & enable a number of #DeFi primitives, such as a multi-currency @anchor_protocol.
3/ Why perpetual swaps?

As mentioned, #DeFi liquidity is predominantly concentrated in USD stablecoins such as $UST.

Supporting one major base currency helps avoid fragmentation of liquidity pools, but limits non-USD stables from finding utility and adoption.

The Forex markets are the largest financial market in the world, facilitating over $6 trillion in daily volume.

Despite this, there isn’t a decentralised money market to support the adoption of DeFi and currencies beyond the U.S Dollar.

Introducing @vertex_protocol

A 🧵
1/ @vertex_protocol will bring FX markets to @terra_money, unleashing the power of DeFi for users everywhere.

But what does this mean/solve?

Let’s dive in!
2/ Currently, DeFi liquidity is concentrated in centralised, USD-denominated stablecoins.

Resulting in:

- Over-exposure to USD for non-USD participants.
- Vulnerability to issuer and jurisdiction risk…
