I still can’t get over the fact that creatine (yes, the workout supplement) outperforms SSRIs in the treatment of major depression
It’s also crazy how virtually every shrink will put patients on SSRIs right away instead of first checking thyroid or testosterone or trying one of these side-effect free antidepressant compounds.
Creatine is also neuroprotective and lowers brain inflammation ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
Other brain benefit: it boosts working memory and intelligence: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
Yes this too. Scandinavians have known about the importance of quality cod liver oil in combatting depression for a long time now.
Aside from the direct neuro effects, the increased lean muscle mass from creatine boosts metabolism overall and increase testosterone. Increasing testosterone also increases dopamine and protects the amygdala, the region of your brain that processes threats, fear, and anxiety.

The historic St. Lucy-St. Patrick Church, completed in 1856, was torn down in Brooklyn this week to make way for apartments. The Roman Catholic Church sold it to developers last year for $12 million.

The development company that bought and tore down the church is Watermark Capital Group led by Joel Kohn, Moshe Rosenberg, and others.
Watermark Capital Group has also been involved with other church replacement projects, including a partnership with self-described "Avid church convertor" Yoel Werzberger on the replacement of the Parish of Sts Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church with a 19 story apartment building.

COOKING TIME: Beef Bourguignon.

I’m going to show you how I do my quick-er instapot version of one of my favorite French stews Image
First you want to rinse your stew beef and let it relax at room temperature for about 30 min. Some like to cut up a roast especially for this stew, but I have some scraps from the cow I put up a couple months back. Grassfed so very lean, we’ll fix that. Image
Traditionally lardons (a fattier type of bacon) are used to get the grease to sear the beef with but I’ve got some lard from @AcornBluffFarms that’ll be perfect. Get a few tablespoons of that in your insta pot and turn it on Sauté. Throw in the beef chunks. Image

Iran, an Islamic theocracy, is currently moving military equipment to Armenia, the oldest Christian nation in the world, to dissuade Azerbaijan, a 99% Muslim country with a secular dictatorship, from carrying out a genocide of Armenian Christians with weapons provided by Israel.
The Armenians are longtime allies of Russia, they’re even in the Moscow-led CSTO defense pact. Russia’s answer to NATO.

But Russian forces are tied up in Ukraine and hasn’t provided an effective security umbrella. So now the Armenians are doing exercises with the U.S. army.
Oh and Turkey, 2nd biggest military in NATO, is gearing up to support Azerbaijan and finish off the work they started when they murdered over a million Armenians from 1915-1917. They want a direct border with the Azeris so they can cut Armenia out of any gas pipeline deal.

Peter Hotez vaccinated his daughter to the gills, she developed severe autism, which he then cynically used to further his own career as a leading vaccine-promoter.

He offered no proof for his central claim that vaccines did not cause his daughters condition. Just assertion. Image
When Hotez does cite studies, it’s usually been ones done in European countries with far fewer vaccines on their schedules, and where BCG immunization (which is protective against some other childhood vaccine injuries) is also common.
He’s gotten tens of millions of dollars over the years from Bill Gates to fund his vaccine research.

Despite this patronage, and his media status as a “leading vaccinologist” Hotez has never actually created a successful vaccine.

The only one that even made it to market was a… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

I see a lot of people are taking the general narrative of Ted Kaczynski at face value.

A narrative shaped by the FBI in the 1990s.

The same organization that lied about Ruby Ridge, lied about Waco, lied about Oklahoma City…and used all of those events to expand their power
The McVeigh and Kaczynski cases both have some striking similarities.

Both were subjected to intense psychiatric manipulation at the hands of shadowy forces.

During his years at Harvard, Kaczynski was part of a three-year experiment aimed at “psychic deconstruction” that… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Another similarity that’s important - neither Kaczynski nor McVeigh acted alone. Yet the FBI insisted on the “lone wolf” narrative.

When the FBI searched Kaczynski’s cabin for weeks, they did not inform local authorities nor get consent for executing the warrant. They shipped… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Kennedy and DeSantis were both just at the border. Kennedy got a ton of cable news coverage and social media engagement. People are talking about his trip. Not the case with DeSantis.

Can you guess why? ImageImage
@GovRonDeSantis 4.4 million followers.

@RobertKennedyJr 1.4 million followers.

Compare the key social post from each candidate. DeSantis’ had advance team, event production, pro AV crew - didn’t clear 1k retweets. Kennedy took a video on his phone, got over 27x the… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… ImageImage
Follow-up posts also did well. Like this one, where he identified practical problem (“they’re pooping in our lettuce”) and accompanied with nice photo hanging out with farmers - solid posting skills
