The Bank of Canada claims it didn't print cash to finance Justin Trudeau’s deficits.
Fact Check: The Bank’s statement is full of baloney. Here's why... 1/5
As Trudeau started issuing bonds to pay for his deficits, the Bank of Canada started buying those bonds. Hundreds of billions worth. 2/5
They absolutely increased the money supply to do so. All forms of money increased – like bank deposits and settlement accounts (and yes, even cash). The supply of money increased as the amount of government bonds the Bank holds increased. 3/5
Summary: Trudeau issued bonds to pay for his deficits. The Bank of Canada created new money out of thin air to buy hundreds of billions worth of those bonds. That new money, including the new cash they printed, is now in our economy driving up prices. 4/5
The Bank is being dishonest with words. If the Bank of Canada is worried about their credibility, they should be more open and honest with Canadians. 5/5

1. Justin Trudeau promised that his Canada Infrastructure Bank would leverage private sector money to create NEW PUBLIC infrastructure projects. Instead, the Liberals are using hundreds of millions of your tax dollars to subsidize a PRE-EXISTING PRIVATE for-profit project.
2. The Lake Erie Connector is a 117 kilometre underwater electricity transmission line connecting Ontario with Pennsylvania. It was purchased in 2014 by ITC Investment Holdings Inc., the largest electricity transmission company in the USA. ITC is a subsidiary of Fortis Inc.
3. Fortis Inc. is a $55 billion company. It brags about delivering 47 years of consecutive dividend increases to its shareholders. And yet, Infrastructure Minister Catherine McKenna just handed them $655 million. This is a clear-cut case of CORPORATE WELFARE, pure and simple.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shut down our economy. But who’s ultimately to blame? It’s not the market or Canadians. The reality is Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have been slow to react during this crisis and their failures have cost Canadians. 1/7
Their failure to close our borders allowed the virus to spread. Their failure to maintain our national stockpile meant hospitals ran out of medical supplies. Their failure to get programs right the first time have allowed businesses and workers to fall through the cracks. 2/7
Liberal failures cannot be allowed to derail provincial efforts to revise health restrictions and get our country back on track. Justin Trudeau must immediately present Canadians with a plan outlining how his government will support provinces and territories going forward. 3/7
Justin Trudeau has blown through a surplus left behind by Conservatives – leaving massive deficits year after year for the next generation of Canadians to pay back. 1/n
That’s not how Canadians manage their households, leaving a huge credit card bill to their kids, and that’s definitely not what Canadians expect of their government. 2/n
He looked Canadians in the eyes and promised to balance the budget in 2019 - but the budget will have a $4.3 BILLION bigger deficit than what Justin Trudeau said back in March - and it will hit $19.8 billion. 3/n
My official statement on Justin Trudeau’s cover-up and the documents released today: 1/9
These documents and recordings are concrete evidence that proves Justin Trudeau led a campaign to politically interfere in SNC-Lavalin’s criminal prosecution. 2/9
He personally gave the orders and when the former Attorney General refused to follow them and break the law, she was fired. 3/9
