Any-weya, #FeminaziZW things. My default position is therefore to look out for women. All women. So to my MARRIED SISTERS, or those intending to get married, or those who think they may get married, please gather here. I am addressing you in the next few Tweets. Woman to Woman...
Disclaimer. I am NOT a lawyer. I don't have any legal training either. I am sharing my understanding of the Act, which may well be wrong. Please seek legal advice to be sure. What I say here can't stand in a court of law. Please have an interest in the Act. Ignorance won't save u
I beg u. REGISTER things in your name. Have PROOF of purchase. When courts are dealing with division of assets on dissolution of a civil partnership(which your hubby is part of), they have to consider u. Things u can prove are yours aren't affected. Protect yourself ladies.
Before this, u would only worry about what happens if you divorce, but now it's also about when you're still married but hubby & his civil partner are breaking up. You potentially stand to lose if there are assets in his name, which you contributed to, but can't prove this. PROOF
My interpretation of s41(5) of the Act may be wrong, but I know for sure that your husband's civil partnership can affect you, somehow. So, please find out what the correct legal position is. My Tweets are my understanding from under a tree. Please educate yourselves. I beg of u
This thing of saying "Rega baba vaite" Yekela ubaba ayenze" simply won't work, from what I can see. Don't be giving hubby cash to start a bottle store, then he'll pretend you didn't give him a cent. Have a bank account and transfer to his account. Paper trail, ladies. PROOF

South Africa is the Rich Cousin. You grew up together, sleeping on the floor at gogo's, sharing a plate of food, angry at her for forcing u to finish sitshwala before u get a piece of meat. U bathed together in that big dish. Now she bathes in a tub. She's not THAT cousin anymore
Only you don't immediately realise it. You think the bond u shared when you were at gogo's still exists. Or maybe it never existed in the first place? You just happened to share a gogo, and maybe not much more? U think appealing to her nostalgia will work, but she says mmh no gal
She's not about that life anymore. So what if you shared nkobe once upon a time? Now she doesn't even eat those things. She no longer eats "Struggle Food". That time you think it's part of a balanced diet. But ke yena kakho lapho. She's moved on with life. & she's not nostalgic

I like how the men are stuck in the "Our mothers & grandmothers did this, they were like that & they were happy" mode.
As girls growing up they put us under immense pressure to get an education & a payslip. You really think it was because they liked their situation? Shuwa shuwa?
One thing about growing up is the women open up to you. You're shocked to discover she was relieved when her husband died because he was so mean & abusive but she couldn't leave. She asks where she would go with her 10 children, no meaningful income & the clan depended on her?
This one tells of how he forced her to stay at home then he didn't provide for the family. Trapped. She can't work outside the home because who will take care of her crèche? What skills does she have to work outside the home anyway? Now she knits jerseys, makes doilies to sell
