Dear Oakland - I’m writing today with a grave concern. While I don’t agree with many of the mayoral candidates positions - I can at least respect most of them as decent human beings trying to do what they believe is best for our Town. There is one candidate however that is

Particularly dangerous. Dangerous and violent. Who aligns with right wing white supremacist ideology. Who regularly espouses hate for women of color and threatens them with violence. Who regurgitates misinformation as though they were facts.

Part of what makes him dangerous is he is a Black man - so some folks may be confused that he is a warrior for the people - let me assure you - he is not - he is a pawn for the status quo. His job in this election is to be anti progressive anti the people anti the left

And to dupe you into believing he speaks for the people. ALL SKIN FOLK AINT KIN FOLK. This is a man who attended a hate rally against trans children - some of our most vulnerable youth.

This is a man who used hateful rhetoric against Black women who simply present him with facts.

This is a man who stalks and films his opposition

This is a man who pulled out an automatic (and illegal) weapon in a zoom call with three women he disagreed with

This is a man who led protests against our unhoused at their outside homes

This is a man who aims all of his vitriol at queer women and women of color like @carroll_fife @ShengForOakland @nikki4oakland @Kaplan4Oakland and myself and so many more

This is a man who literally defers to white supremacist racists on his social platforms

Be clear that Seneca Scott is a plant - a paid one most likely - to disrupt this election cycle and protect the status quo - to sow division and to breed hate - he is the antithesis to Oakland values and principles - he is dangerous

I write this not because I dislike him but because I love all of you so much

We must stand up and shut him down - his ideology and violence have no place in our city and certainly not inside of elected government- the audacity of someone whose been here for just a blink of an eye to try to rip apart our social and cultural fabric

It’s time to shut down Seneca scott and it might also be time to ask our police chief @ChiefLeronne why he would rock with such a violent and dangerous dude

This is a man who beloved in criminalizing our people in crisis and is against mh1 and MACRO. I can’t say it enough - this is a dangerous man.

Do not be surprised if in the coming weeks - right wing forces pour money into his campaign in an attempt to subvert election results as they’ve been doing across the country. But I know we won’t let that play out here. This is Panther country and we’re not to be toyed with

Folk I consulted about this thread were concerned about my safety they are that scared of him - I’m more concerned for the safety of our Town and fr - he can bring it if he chooses - my protection is in the people our protection is in each other together we can eradicate hate

And for that matter - why would you @lorenmtaylor rock with someone so filled with hate? It’s an actual and honest question that should be answered by someone running for mayor
