This is a *really* good thread rounding up #Web3 identity and privacy tech companies. Wanted to throw in a few more on the list that IMO deserve a mention...
@AnonyomeLabs, which is working on a wide-ranging super-toolkit that covers phone, email, passwords, credentials
@Avast, one of the world's largest cybersecurity companies that now owns @evernym and @SecureKey (and is likely to be a powerhouse in wide-ranging existing user base)
@darrello from Continuum Loop (no Twitter?) for niche consulting and expertise in digital identity
@DigitalBCGov is a pioneer in corporate identity in terms of a govt agency adopting privacy-preserving tech (vonx.io) and a core contributor to many aspects of the AnonCreds and Hyperledger Indy standards (shoutout to @scurranC3I for corralling a lot of this).
@didxyz which leads the space in SSI in Africa and were also core contributors to the @cosmos DID specification (not the same as the one @cheqd_io) is building.
@EssifL - the European Self Sovereign Identity Framework Lab - which has been incubating dozens of projects and startups. Their projects list itself is an excellent resource on some small and large projects in Europe at varying levels of maturity essif-lab.eu/our-projects/
@GLEIF issues Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) and has been at forefront of making corporate data/identity portable. One of the core supporters behind KERI (keri.one) - a ledger-less take on Decentralized Identifiers.
@IDunion_SCE, a consortium for digital identity in Germany with govt agencies, banks, etc and whole host of SSI vendors such as @esatusAG, @eeccLab, @DanubeTech, @VERIMI_Now, @spherity. Too many to list here! Germany is a real hotbed for this tech.
@lissi_id who works with German and Dutch banks for portable digital identity, among others. (People should follow @doerkadrian on their team for good insights and research on SSI.)
@magic_labs is building @okta-like simple and easy to integrate single-sign-on technology that supports Web2 logins as well as Ethereum/Web3 sign-in modes. Very cool idea for making ease of use better for app developers.
@SecureKey is behind the did:orb method, an offshoot of did:ion that's used by @Microsoft, and important contributors Hyperledger Aries. Also now part of @Avast.
@trustoverip Foundation supports the development and advancement a lot of the standards in decentralised identity, with working groups contributing to @w3c and @DecentralizedID standards and guidance.
By default, a lot of CeFi (and as seen with @dYdX, some DeFi protocols) default to “traditional KYC” because, let’s be honest, the developer experience to integrate a check from Onfido etc is far easier and well understood.
🚨 We built a network-wide validator status monitoring tool for @Cosmos SDK chains that can monitor for validators that have missed too many blocks, and are likely to get jailed.
2. We decided to build this because a few node operators have been jailed in the past for missing too many blocks. As a reminder, validators on Cosmos SDK networks get slashed if they miss too many blocks within a defined window. learn.cheqd.io/overview/intro…
I looked into *why* the supply of Covid-19 rapid tests has been so badly disrupted in the UK.
TL;DR: All of the distribution is being handled by a single company which will be closed for 7-8+ days around Christmas and New Years' Eve and therefore shortages will persist.
🧵👇🏾
Distributions only resumed on 29th Dec and will be closed again 1-3 Jan (1-4 Jan in some UK countries).
Overall, there's only approx. 1.25mn Covid LFD test packs that will even be processed at the distributor. (There are ~27.8mn households in the UK.)
All of the distribution for Covid lateral flow test kits is being handled by a company called Alliance Healthcare along with its logistics arm Alloga UK.
Here are the list of holidays/closures it announced on 1st December across England/Wales, Scotland, NI.
Out of London for the first time in a year or so, on a short trip to France.
I was able to scan my Covid-19 vaccine record from the NHS App into the French “TousAntiCovid” app.
Much like the UK, there are two modes: one for domestic use, and one for travel.
In general, the QR codes in vaccine passports generated in Europe contain name, DOB, date of jab, kind of vaccine etc. This is an EU-wide standard also used within the NHS app. github.com/nhsx/covid-pas…
When I scan the NHS code into the French TousAntiCovid (“everyone against Covid”) app, it has two modes: one for domestic use in France that visually displays only the QR code and name. This is for showing in restaurants, bars, etc.
