Getting somewhere for elastomeric respirator style ! #steampunk vibe but P3 protection based on GVS Elipse P3. Now the right color elastics. Thanks to @nickelpin
for inspiration, paint advice. Angelus paint and finish, Games W. acrylics for deco. #Elastomeric, #respirator
A short description of the process. You can find a few pictures here, but I had some trial and error process and even with the final ones, no warranty it will hold long, as @nickelpin also explained very well !
So, take the mask appart, clean the parts well (I used dishsoap and then isopropanol after drying).
For the flexible parts (edges of the filters and facepiece) just paint the whole carefully with black Angelus paint. I used two fine layers.
You will have to paint each filter when you replace them. I have not painted the parts that make the contact between filters and facepiece to avoid to make air entries. Even so, I am not sure it is as good as before for seal.
The plastic part has been sprayed with plastic primer (one from acrylics Vallejo for miniatures, but probably many other brands would do). Use black, covering the red was not fun. I painted over it with black acrylic (Black from Semple as I had it at hand and it is non toxic)
I then added gold highlights (mostly finger painted for the surfaces, so it would be irregular, plus a bit with a fine brush). I added a red wash on some areas. The "nails" were added after the wash with a dot tool (a little metal ball of 1 mm on a pen) and enough paint to 3D.
Same for the dots on the facepiece. If you do not clean the tool the dots get progressively bigger. I finished with a layer of matte Angelus finisher on both. Apart from the Angelus paint, I think the others can be replaced by other brands.
The paints used, and the tool. Sorry, I was mistaken on the golden acrylics and wash, not GW but (cheaper) Acrylicos Vallejos too.
The tool is nail art originally, but a toothpick can probably also be used...
After almost two month, worn something like 5h a week for high density public transportation. Washed cleaned inside after each wear, weekly deep clean with soap and water. Paint is mostly ok, with a few spots where it is starting to peel. Should have sanded hard plastic.

I received the lanterns from @NukitToBeSure a few days ago, have finally had the chance to open and install a few.
The ordering was blocked for a while because shopify would recognize any adress in France. She was super helpful and figured it out for me over a few days.
The box is very nice (think smartphone box), almost too nice for the "carbon monoxid detector" aim of an earlier discussion.
Most importantly, the box contains everything needed and some things that came in super useful. Lots of planning has clearly gone into it.
I have installed loads of lamps and was fully ready to fiddle with too short cables, inventing different fixation systems etc. None of that was needed.
First this wonderfull fixation system, easy to set into any position either standing or from the wall. Very stable too...
If Twitter goes down soon, I might as well post the tabletop box. It still needs little feet (there is a filter below, so 2 complete 16x2). My nicest box yet.
It goes to the center of the table, separating both sides. It will be paired with a large flat box above the table.
Build pictures. White cardboard structure, Anaglypta relief wallpaper, black paint. The box can also be used standing on a small side.
This textured wallpaper also makes fantastic changes to standard shelves.
We are clearly in this for the long run. Air filters will be there for a while. Why not try to integrate them in the furniture ? Inspi @ee_kelsey
A Starkvind is a perfect fit below a Raskog trolley for a single filter box with a plenum. You could even use the pretty bamboo top.
Starkvind fit tightly in the large side of the cheap triangular Vesken shelves (<10€). Block the other sides with fans in cardboard using tape: you have a filter shelf.
With a bit of coaxing, you can convince a Starvind to fit in a narrow Billy. #ikeahacks#CorsiRosenthalBox
Then a carboard shelf on top with fans (or holes in a real shelf you will not use), a real shelf below and there is minimal tape use.
Basically any shelf of the right size could serve as a box structure (with appropriate distance from walls for air circulation).
