To the un-American people (and the foreign trolls) talking about some supposed #NationalDivorce, let me explain why that’s not just treasonous but also stupid.

America does not consist of red states and blue states. That’s not the division we have.
America consists of heavily populated cities and surrounding suburbs, which tend to be blue or purple, and rural areas, which tend to be red.
It consists of areas where lots of people have more formal education, which tend to be blue or purple, regardless of the skin color or ethnicity of the people who live there, and areas where people have less formal education and less affluence, which tend to be red.
If you could somehow separate the blue states from the red states, as some deluded Americans, some lying hypocritical pundits and our foreign enemies sometimes suggest, you’d end up with a brand new problem:

Those states would then need to be divided.
Let’s look at the largest red states in America by population.

Texas is divided into 254 counties. But half of its population (and, by implication, a gigantic portion of its income) is concentrated in just 7 counties. 5 of those 7 voted for Biden in 2020.
Florida is divided into 67 counties. But half of its population and a lot of its wealth and income are concentrated in just 7 counties. And even though Donald Trump won Florida in 2020, Joe Biden won all of these 7 counties.
North Carolina was the red state which Trump won by the slimmest margin. It’s been almost evenly politically divided in every Presidential Election since 2008. is divided into 100 counties. But half the voters in the state live in 13 counties. Biden won 8 of the 13.
And then there’s the fact that 7 of the 10 states with the highest GDP are blue. And in them, like everywhere else, there are a lot of red counties with lower populations and a small number of blue counties where most of the people live.

Most of the “Donor States” are blue.
There’s no way to rip America apart without continuing to rip further after you’ve ripped at the top level. You’d end up with even more division than we have now.
We’d have poor areas which have lost the benefits of living in a Republic in which we share our public revenues and expenditures. Rich ones. Not just at a national level but at a local level. After the so-called National Divorce would come a series of State Divorces.
You’d have blue areas in many states wanting to separate from the red states. Red areas in many many states wanting to separate from the blue ones.

Absolute unfettered chaos.

Which is exactly what America’s enemies, both foreign and domestic, want.
Our adversaries know that the best way to destroy America is from within.

And so not only do their trolls try to advocate things like this but they get help from some disloyal Americans with large platforms.

And some frustrated Americans buy into it.
The only way this is going to work is that we need to learn to live together.

We are not each other’s enemies.

And, contrary to what some carnival barkers preach, we actually agree on a lot more than we think we do.
The only way America prospers if if we all prosper.

None of us is more or less important than any of the rest of us.

Don’t listen to people who push for such incredibly stupid ideas. Ideas that our enemies would just love if we keep talking about.
Also, have you ever noticed that people tend to get along pretty well until we start talking about politics?

Donald Trump barely won the state of Pennsylvania in 2016. A state that hadn’t gone red in a Presidential Election since 1988. He won it in 2016 by 44,292 votes. A historic anomaly.

In 2020, Trump lost by nearly twice the margin he had won by in 2016 - 80,554 votes.

Since Trump took office and until he left office, the GOP lost 4 US House seats in PA, lost a net 4 State Senate seats in PA and lost a net 8 State House seats in PA.

He lost to Joe Biden, who was long referred to as “Pennsylvania’s Third Senator,” who lived literally next door.
A third of Pennsylvania voters live in the Philadelphia Metro area. Which Trump lost by more than 30 points.

Trump won most counties in Pennsylvania. But not the counties where most of the voters in the state live. ImageImage

President Biden said:
“I want to be very clear: Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology.”

28% of Americans are Republicans. How many are “MAGA Republicans?”
There is no precise definition of a MAGA Republican.

But some of the things I heard referenced as things that are dangers to democracy:

- Unwillingness to condemn acts of insurrection.
- Acceptance of political violence (threatening law enforcement, poll workers, etc)
- Abandonment of democracy. Giving up on the idea that citizens have the right to vote and that those votes, however they turn out, determine who wins.

I don’t know what percentage of the 28% is on the wrong side of these ideas. But I know it’s FAR from all of them.

2000: Al Gore concedes immediately after the Supreme Court rules for Bush in Bush v. Gore.

2016: Hillary Clinton concedes within hours of the polls closing.

2018: Stacy Abrams did not incite a violent insurrection.
In Abrams’ case, while she did not formally concede in the days after the election, she did acknowledge ten days after the election that the contest was over.
What Donald Trump did is unique in American history.

No other President has ever lost re-election and then used his last days in office to try to overturn the election he just lost and stay in office in defiance of the votes of the American people.

If you’ve ever even somewhat seriously talked about wanting to start a Civil War if an election doesn’t go the way you want or if a politician you love is served with a search warrant (which actually finds proof of a crime) - nobody cares if you’re offended by “extremist.”
Talking about waging war on your own country. Issuing death threats against poll workers, witnesses, law enforcement officers? You think that’s normal? If nobody’s ever told you that you sound crazy, it’s probably because they’re too afraid of you to tell you. You’re nuts!
I can guarantee you guys you have people in your own families who talk about you more harshly than anything Biden ever said about you. Behind your backs they call you “the crazy one.”

It’s not normal!

Again …

TWO out of EVERY THREE Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives who are running for re-election this fall TRIED TO THROW OUT THE 2020 U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION!

66% of them!
In addition, the MAJORITY of GOP House members seeking re-election this year signed onto a SCOTUS Amicus Brief asking the Court to throw out the elections in FOUR DIFFERENT STATES WHICH TRUMP LOST.

This would have effectively thrown away the votes of 10 million American voters.
In addition, 14% (7 of the 50) of Republican U.S. Senators voted to try to overturn the 2020 Election on January 6th and 7th, 2021. Including several who did it on their fourth and fifth day in office.

Quick note to pro-life folks who think that pro-lifers can’t vote for Democrats or that the GOP is supposedly a pro-life party:

Those of us who are pro-life and now voting for Dems aren’t the ones trying to erase anything we ever said about abortion.

Some GOP politicians are.
My opinions on the sanctity of human life have not changed one bit. I am focused though on how to help people.

Why do so many people think that abortion is their best option?

How can we address those reasons?

What are we going to do to help all the babies who are on the way?
If you prevent a person who doesn’t want to get pregnant from getting pregnant, including through contraceptives, you’ve in many cases prevented an abortion.

If we make it easier for people having hard times to get the help they need, they may choose other options.
