Looks like it was Wes Streeting himself who pushed for Labour to adopt a default trans-exclusionary answer to the stupid gotcha questions about penises.
There are two options a progressive politician has when asked a question like that.

1. The first is the call out the question as being an obvious attempt to harm trans people.

2. The second is to simply answer 'yes, trans women can'.
Trying for 3. 'No, but also trans people are discriminated against', is complete crap, and everyone will see through it.

The media aren't going to play fair at this, they hate trans people and they hate you for supporting them even a little.

Don't play the game.

LGB Alliance are, and have always been, controlled opposition.
The LGBT community could not reasonably be expected to have rejected LGB Alliance any harder than they did.

The failure was with the media (including ITV and the BBC) treating them as representative of a legitimate portion of the community for ‘balance’.
There are loads of LGBT folk (activists and otherwise) who have ideological objections to Stonewall, etc, but the vast vast majority of them aren’t LGBA types, but those who oppose the type of LGBT activism that gives positive ratings to the security services and oil companies.

History will judge whether one doctor who never treated a trans patient was right, or whether all the evidence that he was wrong was right.

Actually, wait, why are we waiting for history again?
He's just a random dude who doesn't like trans people and happened to work at the trust where the largest Gender Identity Clinic as.

He's lying about what conversion therapy is, because he wants it to be legal to abuse trans kids until they either act cis or die.
There is *nothing* to back up any of his claims at all, there has never been a shred of evidence that homophobic parents are trying to 'trans' their kids, or that well-meaning parents are mistaking the signs of their kid being gay or bi for them being trans.

None. Nothing. Nada.

Utterly shameful.
Congratulations to the LGB Alliance, The Guardian, GB News, New Statesman, Spectator, The Critic, Spiked, Unherd, The Times, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Daily Express, Sex Matters, WPUK, FPFW, and the EHRC, on ensuring the UK can't take a single step forward on LGBT rights.
Of course their next move, having halted all progress, will be to attempt to rollback existing rights.

Expect a focus on sex education, any kind of LGBT activity in schools, and, of course, anywhere where trans inclusivity has been taken for granted for years.
