This week is National Child Protection week and workers have again walked off the job! They have walked off the job twice in two weeks due to a critical shortage of workers and the impact it’s having on at risk kids #politas @CPSUTas @SPSFgroup #auspol
Access visits canceled due a lack of workers.
Instances where it has taken over a week to respond to a priority one case (the highest level of risk) when it should be actioned in 4 hours as not enough workers to access and action.
In the words of one worker we play ‘guessing games’ on which kids to prioritise, focus on those under 5 leave those older, who hopefully can fend for themselves a little better 😓
Children who have been allocated to 14 CSOs in 4 years.
No worker should be put in this position. Required daily to decide who not to help, that’s what happens in war not in the daily delivery of a service focussed on the protection of the children #politas #auspol
