Howdy folks. I've got a doozy of a twisted tale to share with you on this fine Friday. It has to do with the man who cyberstalked, defamed, and doxxed me and my family. His name is Joseph Camp. He stopped harassing me a while ago when he got a new target who goes by Danesh.
1/
Those of you who have followed my work for the last year may remember I broke the news of the Epik data leak, which exposed a number of far-right websites. Among them was a doxxing site run by Joseph Camp. He harassed me for months until he started attacking Danesh.
2/
Although it was confirmed that CEO of Epik, Rob Monster, had hired Joseph Camp to do "research" on certain people in the past, I was never able to confirm exactly who hired Joseph Camp to harass, dox and defame me, even if it was clear he was retaliating because of reporting.
3/
Camp is a notorious criminal. He associates with white supremacists, fascists, and neo-Nazis. He posts racial and anti-LGBTQ slurs on his Gab account on a near daily basis. I feel safe to say that Camp is a vile, hateful, deeply sad human being who operates as an attack dog.
4/
Camp started going after Danesh earlier this year, but the reason he went after him wasn't as obvious at the time. Recently, an interesting set of connections began to emerge. It started after Danesh identified a woman named Jennifer Couture in a video that went viral.
5/
A few months later, Danesh started getting harassed, doxxed, and even stalked. Joseph Camp is the one who started the campaign, but he's notoriously difficult to track down. He claims he fled the country, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Last week, Danesh filed a restraining order against Jennifer Couture, alleging that she has been the one responsible for financing and directing the harassment, which if true could violate the terms of Couture's probation. Yesterday, Couture filed to terminate the probation.
7/
Danesh has compiled a significant amount of info about Couture and Camp. He alleges Couture and her husband financed the purchase of billboards, penny savers, and TV ads about Danesh seeking to harm his reputation. He also alleges they came to his hometown to take photos.
8/
If Danesh is correct, this means that a handful of attorneys probably want to talk to Couture about their relationship with notorious cyberstalker and harasser, Joseph Camp. Perhaps his ostensible exile will come to an end much sooner than expected.
9/
This morning, Joey Camp posted a link to an anonymous article published yesterday defending Couture and claiming that one person researching this, James McGibney, is trying to "get people kidnapped by the government." The timing of this clear. They feel the walls closing in.
10/
The responses to my thread are telling. Joseph Camp is a serial cyber criminal who should probably be back in Leavenworth where he belongs.
And if it's true that Jennifer Couture financed and directed Joseph Camp's latest harassment spree, which Camp has continued even after the initial filing of the restraining order, Couture may have some issues with getting her probation terminated.
12/
If you have suffered harassment, doxxing or stalking from Joseph Camp, and you'd like to speak on it, I would recommend reading this.
One small addendum: Danesh had to rework and refile his restraining order on September 7 after the initial filing was sent back. The next day, Couture filed to terminate her probation and the anonymous article defending her appeared online.
14/
If you'd like to read this wild and twisted thread as a single post, you can do so here.
Predictably, Joseph Camp has started texting me threats again in response to my reporting. Camp has sent me hundreds of messages, including death and rape threats.
16/
If you'd like to support my independent journalism, which unfortunately attracts harassment from people like Joseph Camp, consider chipping in to my Patreon, or one of the options available at the link in my bio.
Last note: Mr. Andy Ngo wrote his smear article about me only after Joey Camp started harassing me. Ngo used a photo of me with a gun to write about a bogus libel lawsuit I just beat. If he were indeed a journalist he would know that photo was a signal to would be harassers.
18/
After receiving horrible harassment from Camp and being targeted by Ngo for a smear article, I had to take steps to ensure I would be safe. I improved my home security. Later on, Camp seemed to complain that Andy Ngo had been taking info from him.
In conclusion, facing harassment of this sort is unfortunately a part of my job, and anyone who thinks an extremism journalist in Texas wouldn't also own a gun and have proper trigger discipline is sorely mistaken. A basic self defense regime is a great deterrent.

SCOOP: after @sravan_kri presented new In God We Trust signs and a letter to @Carrollisd in an attempt to replace signs donated by Patriot Mobile, the district responded saying their signs, which are different than those donated by Patriot Mobile, are compliant. Interesting!
It appears that somewhere in between Patriot Mobile donating signs, and the challenge against them being filed, that Carroll ISD quietly accepted new signs that are indeed in compliance. Unclear when those were donated, or who paid for them.
By quietly accepting and hanging signs that are different than those presented by Patriot Mobile at a school board meeting in August, Carroll ISD may have circumvented the attempts to replace the existing signs with ones designed by students and offered by parents.
Local Republican political consultancy suggests there's a connection between @KenPaxtonTX and the fascistic Current Revolt website, which the same Republican political consultancy has described as "Nazi satire" — and the word satire is use facetiously.
The second photo in the post above is of Ken Paxton and his wife chatting in front of a Current Revolt banner with the founder of the Dallas Jewish Conversatives, a local right wing group that's hosted a slew of QAnon influencers and conspiracy peddlers.
This is who is organizing the "For God and Country Patriot Roundup" QAnon convention here in Dallas in late November
Among the featured speakers is Vincent Fusca, who some in the QAnon movement believe is actually JFK Jr., which is a separate belief from the one held by the QAnon offshoot "Protzmanian" cult who believe that JFK Jr. lives out life in disguise as a celebrity.
If you're curious about how the "For God and Country Patriot Roundup" QAnon convention in Dallas went last year, read my dispatch here.
Something that I look forward to discussing during the panel on Domestic Extremism and Political Violence in October is the question of "neutrality" and how we should do better to distinguish that from "non-partisanship."
1/
Neutralilty and partisanship are distinct concepts, but the two party system in our country does a good job of confusing the two. When you're living through an era of domestic extremism and political violence, being "neutral" sometimes means calling fascist things fascist.
2/
My view is we should describe absurd things absurdly, racist things racistly, fascist things fascistly, etc. It's important to use our words correctly when they hew toward the truth. And it's important we not be afraid of doing so for fear of being perceived as "partisan"

The Hispanic Republican Club of North Texas is apparently celebrating Hispanic Heritage month by holding an event featuring a right wing troll who goes on InfoWars and the founder a fascistic blog that platforms Christian Nationalists and people who post legit Nazi memes.
Recently, the fascistic blog Current Revolt posted a blog saying that Texas should "round up" illegals and put them in "internment camps indefinitely" in order to boost Texas electoral votes.
As mentioned above, one contributor to Current Revolt has posted Nazi memes on Twitter. This isn't an exaggeration. The post is still up.
A year ago, an alleged BLM group called Dallas Justice Now caused massive controversy with their "college pledge." The story made national and international news.
But Dallas Justice Now was a hoax group connected to a Republican PR firm and promoted by Republican pink slime.
1/
I broke the story about Dallas Justice Now wide open in an article for the Dallas Observer and followed up two other papers. In response to my articles, Dallas Justice Now alleged that I am a "white vigilante racist." They didn't address the facts. Recently, they rebranded.
2/
Dallas Justice Now continues to push the agenda of their mysterious and unknown funders, which now appears to be anti-socialist and pro "school choice" (read: privatization). The face of their organization isn't from Dallas and it appears they only moved here for the job.
