Great thread from Konrad, I do think the Russians are in a very precarious place in northern Ukraine, especially after losing a massive amount of equipment.
We’ll probably see them try to hold the east bank of the Oskil river, but the Ukrainians have the initiative right now.
We may see an increase in the number of punitive attacks on Ukrainian targets as Russian forces lose the ability to mass artillery against a fast moving Ukrainian offensive. I would expect the city of Kharkiv continue to be Russia’s favorite punching bag over the next few weeks.
The strike on the TEC-5 power plant probably won’t do much damage to the Ukrainian offensive, but the Russians don’t really have the ability to use those munitions against other targets.
Bit more info on Dubbing, which involves removing the comb, wattles and sometimes earlobes of the bird. It’s common in cockfighting, but most animal welfare organizations say it’s pointless. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubbing_(…
The Ukrainians are beginning to open up a very interesting salient north of Kherson City. If Ukrainian forces can cut off Russian troops east of the T2207, that effectively cuts them off from existing crossings over the Dnipro.
At the same time, those Russian forces are being pressured from the north, losing Vysokopillya in the last 24-48 hours. If it ends up becoming an encirclement, I move to name it the Novovoskresens'ke pocket.
I’ll just add on what I’ve seen floating around this morning, there are scattered reports that in Kherson Oblast, the DPR’s 109th MRR was abandoned by their attached Russian VDV unit, forcing a retreat.
