New from @hntrbrkmedia, the U.S. is massing reconnaissance aircraft near Venezuela as the U.S. deploys nearly a dozen ships into the region.

Puerto Rico now hosts a detachment of Navy P-8A Poseidons conducting surveillance and gathering intelligence across the Caribbean. Image Historical imagery reviewed by Hunterbrook indicates that this is an unusual deployment, with no similar traffic observed during 248 Sentinel-2 passes over a 5-year period.

Lots to say about this statement, but it appears that the US doesn’t entirely understand what Putin wants.

The war likely would not end immediately if Ukraine gave up its claim to NATO and Crimea, Russia has made that clear even through the latest round of negotiations. Putin told Trump a little over 48 hours ago that Ukraine would also have to conduct massive withdrawals in Donetsk Oblast in order to get something that even resembled a cessation in hostilities.

Seeing a lot today on Russia's potential breakthrough north of Pokrovsk, so here's a map.

This is a collation of recent Sentinel-2 and other satellite imagery from August 8-10 (methodology below). Topline: small Russian assault groups most likely breached Ukrainian lines. Image I have generally classified newly burned fields as evidence of shelling.

There is no way to describe the exact side or system responsible, whether it be artillery or an FPV drone, though the date of the shelling is relatively clear.

Exclusive from @hntrbrkmedia: Joby’s ($JOBY) new long-range hydrogen-powered UAV has broken cover in eastern Oregon.

The large UAV, registered as the JAI 30, has already completed at least one H2-powered flight, where it remained airborne for over 9 hours. Image Hunterbrook managed to capture images of the JAI 30 — which are, as far as we know, the first ever published. They show its forward fairing removed, revealing that a major portion of the aircraft’s interior is occupied by at least one large hydrogen tank. Image
