#MosquitoFire (#Foresthill, Placer Co/El Dorado Co) - From the townhall meeting: they were lucky today w/ the inversion & smoke setting in for the day: didn't see that extreme fire behavior from yesterday. ~2,000 firefighters being moved in to the fire.

#MosquitoFire - Branch 5 (Foresthill) has been holding really good. They've been able to do some mop up in there today & get more lines in around Foresthill. They were able to get into Branch 20 (Volcanoville) to do some mopup around structures, looking to get some line in there.

#MosquitoFire - They've been doing a lot of scouting in the areas towards the east. It's big country & a lot of steep drainages. From the fire behavior analyst: yesterday at 12pm it was 8,000 acres. Temp was 95, RH was 15% & winds were 6mph. That resulted in a 21,000 acre growth.

#MosquitoFire - Today was much different: temps were 88, RH 20% & winds 0-3mph. That resulted in no large fire growth: that's a good day. They're going to continue to see slope runs & the key factor is the smoke & winds, it'll help out if it stays like this a couple more days.

#MosquitoFire - No injuries or deaths have been reported to the Sheriff's (this is an El Dorado Co meeting). Weather: night times they expect gentle 3-4mph winds off the mountains from east to west. In the day time it'll be out of the west or S/W which is common.

#MosquitoFire - Not a lot of air resources were flying today due to the smoke & it is too unsafe for the pilots to fly in "nasty deep canyons" when there is that much smoke.
