Jennifer O'Connell missed a lot of points in her article today however were pleased that Genspect, @WomensSpaceIre
and @jordanbpeterson get a mention.

Jennifer misses the point that "fruit of the poisonous tree" is a legal doctrine from the USA.. 1/4 irishtimes.com/opinion/2022/0…
Jennifer says "But this is precisely how democratic society works. We are free to believe whatever we like, but we are not free to behave as we like."

But what about #FreedomNotToBelieve ? That's also an essential aspect of a democratic society. 2/4
There are too many leaps of logic to go through them all, another example is,
"But no one is asking him to change his beliefs, only his behaviour."

For some people (evidently not Jennifer) integrity means that your behaviour matches your beliefs 3/4
Jennifer reminds us there is a child in the centre of all this. We would like to echo that.
This teen should have been treated with considerably more care & caution. The school should have handled the situation better rather than allow this circus to unfold

Thread: WPATH's much anticipated SOC8 has been further delayed. Some suspect that public outrage against pediatric gender clinics such as @BostonChildrens and criticism of the @AmerAcadPeds's "gender affirmative model of care" could be factors.
The lead for the “Assessment, Support and Therapeutic Approaches of Children” chapter of the upcoming SOC8 is listed on WPATH's website as Amy Tishelman, PhD, a clinical psychologist. bit.ly/3RLhoXs

Continuing the lack of clarity in schools saga:

About 80% of UK school use SIMS to manage pupil data. Previously there was a place to record gender (male or female) but no place to record sex. 'Gender' has now been relabelled as 'sex', 1/4

This case is controversial. But the fact that a teacher is in jail tonight because he refused to call a student 'they/them' is deeply disturbing.

Enoch Burke's behaviour and beliefs are being criticised and Genspect doesn't agree with many of his views. But this is irrelevant.
We need to protect freedom of conscience and the right to free speech.
Compelled speech is an insidious concept that needs to be stopped
Although Enoch Burke is in jail for contempt of court, this case is rooted in the fact that the teacher's beliefs prevented him from calling a student they/them. As he said "it's plural".

It's the fruit of the poisonous tree.
