Basically, it’s point is that because mostly old aggrieved white people are the ones watching 24/7 news, the news has to cater to their grievances, rather than inform the public (I nutshellize).
Is it true that Armenia is provisioning and supplying Russia in the unprovoked war against Ukraine?
Because if it is, I am incredibly shocked and disappointed.
I am an American who happened to be born in Turkey. I grew up with a love of that country, and yet
I have NEVER hesitated to stand with the Armenian diaspora in demanding recognition of the genocide of the Armenian people by Turkey. NEVER.
So what, is genocide of Armenians a travesty but genocide of Ukrainians OK? Is that what’s going on here?
Never would I have thought
that Armenia would side with Russia in any conflict, let alone help Russian engage in the exact war crimes and genocide that befell the Armenian people (far worse, actually).
You can’t have it both ways. You can decry genocide when it happened to your people, but help Russia
We now have to two bedrock social contracts under full assault by the GOP:
Social Security and public education.
It’s time to renew our full throated and unwavering support of both.
What we have learned is that public education cannot be left to the states, or worse,
municipalities, because the fate of our children gets decided by selfish, racist and inequitable partisans.
We have had education apartheid in this country from AGES, and the reason is because local tax bases and leaders determine the quality of a child’s education.
It has ALWAYS been a ridiculous way to do education. And it needs to stop.
The answer is to federalize public education, by building and servicing federal schools all across the country, in every neighborhood.
