* Root of political corruption in India is Electoral Funding.

* This corruption was legalized on 1st April 2017.

HOW?

* Through anonymous Electoral Bonds which also effectively amended Representation of People's Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act etc very quietly.

* The challenge to this is listed for hearing on 19th September I.e.TOMORROW.

* In 2019, a 3 Judge Bench of the Supreme Court passed an Interim Order.3 1/2 years has passed since then.

* In the interests of 'transparency', paradoxically each party was to provide a list of donations received to the Election Commission of India..in a sealed envelope!

* It was then left to ECI to decide whether, when and how to reveal this, which since sat tight on this!!!

*From Electoral Funding with sackfuls of cash, we migrated to Corporates buying Bonds from SBI with tax paid money, enjoying tax deduction

and zero tax on the Bonds for the political parties receiving donations. So Funding at last was majorly white...

* Since the Bonds were like bearer cheques, only the company & the political party knew the details. NOT THE VOTING PUBLIC. That brought in anonymity.

* Wait SBI, and that meant Govt.obviously knew who gave & who received from the Bond numbers. So, Govt.through it's many agencies knew exactly whom to pinch.

* Also the question of political quid pro-quo, meaning whether the donation was return for some political favour

could NEVER be established.

What @ShekharGupta left unsaid was that ALL POLITICAL PARTIES ARE IN CAHOOTS WITH THIS SCHEME FROM 1ST APRIL 2017 TILL TODAY. YOU WONT FIND @RahulGandhi ever challenging the Government on this issue!

Iss hamaam may sabhi nange hain.

The only suckers are the citizens of those country.

..TILL THE SUPREME COURT MAKES THE SYSYEM TRANSPARENT.
