1. Justin Fields has 28 passes through two games. It is really difficult to judge a QB like that.

He’s far from perfect but everything about this offense screams work-in-progress.

The best thing for everybody is to wait until the end of October. We should have answers by then.
2. Really hate to say this because he seems like a great kid.

Cole Kmet isn’t the guy at tight end.

Good tight ends don’t need constant scheming to get open. They also catch the ball.

He’s developing into a very good blocker, but the #Bears need more from the passing game.
3. The far bigger surprise through two games is Darnell Mooney.

He should not be this invisible.

Two catches through two games is bad. Really bad.

One has to hope Velus Jones’ return can bring some juice to the passing game. #Bears
4. There is some good news. The #Bears running game is a force.

They racked up 180 yards and a TD.

Montgomery and Herbert were great, but so was the blocking.

If this continues, play action opportunities will be there.
5. Roquan Smith should’ve taken the deal the #Bears offered.

With each passing game, it’s becoming apparent he is a liability in this new defensive system.

Green Bay ran circles around him all night. If he wants superstar money, he better start playing like one soon.
6. The pass rush was excellent again. Aaron Rodgers was sacked three times and hit four others.

That trio of Robert Quinn, Dominique Robinson, and Trevis Gipson looks dangerous.

Their ceiling may depend on if the run defense can be fixed. #Bears
7. Justin Jones and Armon Watts are try-hard guys that will make some plays here and there.

Even so, they’re the weak link in that #Bears front seven. Green Bay proved that with their dominating rushing effort.

This team needs a genuine force inside.
8. The game plan for every opposing QB moving forward is obvious.

Ignore Jaylon Johnson and target Kyle Gordon and Kindle Vildor.

The #Bears have to consider keeping Gordon outside. He doesn’t look ready for the slot.
9. Cold reality set in again for the #Bears. They don’t have the horses to run with Green Bay.

The only way they could’ve won that game was if they played almost perfect.

Ryan Poles needs time to close that gap.
10. All things considered, the #Bears did what they had to do.

They escape a murderous first two weeks with a 1-1 record.

Now they have games against HOU, NYG, MIN, WAS, and NE.

Each of them is winnable.

1. The secret to the #Bears beating the Packers has never been complicated.

Want the answer? Check out the turnover margin for each time they won in the Aaron Rodgers era.

2008 - 2-2
2010 - 2-1
2013 - 1-0
2015 - 2-0
2018 - 1-1

They've never won on the wrong side of it.
2. The #Bears are 3-2 in their last five meetings with the Packers where the QB didn't throw an interception.

For all the talk about Rodgers this and Rodgers that, the fact is the Bears QBs have been grossly inefficient against Green Bay.

Justin Fields had three INTs last year.
3. It was frustrating the #Bears didn't weaponize Fields' legs more last year against the Packers.

He ran the ball 15 times for 107 yards last year against them.

Tyler Huntley had 73 yards against them in one game. for Baltimore.

Get him out of the pocket.

1. Since the start of 2019, the #Bears offense has failed to crack 250 total yards for a game nine times.

Matt Nagy might be one of the best snake oil salesmen in recent memory.
1a. Justin Fields was asked to run a traditional West Coast-style offense on Sunday from the pocket against one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL.

If people needed evidence that Nagy is married to his system and will never change?

There you go. #Bears
1b. The #Bears have never fired a head coach midseason before.

We've said it would take something major for that to change.

After Detroit next week they get the Raiders, Packers, Buccaneers, 49ers, and Steelers.

Mostly teams that can score, play good defense, or both. 😬

1. Mitch Trubisky deserves lots of credit for helping the #Bears rebound over the past few weeks. They're clearly a better team with him under center.

One must stress caution though.

Context is king and the reality is a soft schedule of subpar defenses (30th, 31st, 22nd) helps.
2. The best way to describe this situation is Mitch Trubisky has returned close to his 2018 form.

He's playing efficient, confident football thanks in large part to the offense not going through him.

Back then it was Jordan Howard. This time it's David Montgomery. #Bears
3. David Montgomery has accounted for 571 total yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in the past four games.

He's been borderline unstoppable, looking quicker and faster than ever along with his never-die-easy running style.

The #Bears have hitched their wagon to him.

1. Ryan Pace’s tenure as #Bears GM pretty much died on a Mitch Trubisky strip-sack. It doesn’t get much more poetic than that.
2. Calling back-to-back pass plays deep in your own territory with a turnover-prone QB while your RB is having a great game.

Say this for Matt Nagy. He went down staying 100% on brand. #Bears
3. Allen Robinson needs 96 yards in four games to crack 1,000 for the second-straight year. He’s the best offensive player this regime ever acquired.

It’s horribly fitting he’ll likely leave at the same time as them. #Bears

1. The #Bears now rank 31st in the NFL in points scored and total yards.

Only one offense in team history ranked worse. That was in 2004. The Craig Krenzel/Jonathan Quinn/Chad Hutchinson era.

The fact Matt Nagy has managed this with Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles says it all.
2. In six drafts to this point, Ryan Pace has selected three offensive linemen before the 5th round.

One was off the team after two seasons.

For a guy who talked so much about QBs being vital to success, he's shown incredible negligence in protecting his.

#Bears
3. In their 10 games this season, the #Bears offense has scored a total of 18 touchdowns.

Ready for this? Ten of those touchdowns came in the 4th quarter. The remaining 8 came in the other three quarters combined.

Translation? When defenses don't play soft, they have no shot.
