The Jamaica Football Federation stands in full support of national player Damion Lowe after reports he was addressed with a racist slur in a game on Sunday evening.
The MLS is investigating the incident.
The JFF strongly condemns and abhors racism in any form, whether on or off the field and we stand ready to give whatever support is necessary to Damion.
The incident took place in a game in the MLS between Inter Miami and DC United. “It was a racist comment. A word was used. I think it is unacceptable in society,” Phil Neville, coach of Inter Miami is reported to have said.
In July, SWNT player Trudi Carter was the target of racist taunts coming from a section of the crowd in Mexico at the Concacaf W tournament.
End.
