The people who are creating shortages of fertilizer, natural gas, & electricity call themselves “environmentalists,” but by increasing the use of wood, coal, & land, they are causing far more harm to the environment than any fossil fuel company.

Many of the people shutting down natural gas, nuclear, and fertilizer production no doubt love being in nature, but the evidence is overwhelming that the consequences of their anti-energy policies are significant increases in pollution & environmental degradation.

It would thus be accurate to call the people who repress energy and food production “anti-environmentalists,” but a more fair label is “anti-civilization activists” since they themselves say explicitly that their enemy is modern, industrial civilization.

Since many anti-civilization activists hate humankind, in the tradition of Malthus, it may seem fair to call them “anti-human activists,” but not all of them are anti-human, whereas the vast majority, and even mainstream ones, are openly anti-civilization

It is also the case that many of the people obsessively demanding to be at the center of attention, and that we re-organize the entire economy around their demands, are malignant narcissists, but anti-civilization remains their main objective & identity.

Given the essentially religious and pathological nature of the war on energy & fertilizer, there is no point arguing with its anti-civilization activists. They must be defeated politically. The good news is that the energy crisis is our best chance in 50 years to do so.

We must demand abundant energy & fertilizer, vote out the politicians who are repressing them, and present to voters the overwhelming evidence of the harm they are causing and deranged motivations behind their behaviors.

Over time, this will result in the political & cultural change required to return to the pro-energy, pro-fertilizer, and pro-civilization politics that the vast majority of people in the world want. Indeed, to some extent this already happening.
