(🧵) Now that GINNI THOMAS will be interviewed by the House January 6 Committee, it’s a good time for everyone to get acquainted with what this powerful insurrectionist was up to pre-January 6. This thread contains the exhaustively sourced PROOF reports on this. PLEASE RETWEET.
NOTE/ Combined, these reports contain a book’s worth of material on what the wife of Supreme Court Justice CLARENCE THOMAS was doing in the days and weeks preceding the January 2021 armed attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The reports draw from scores and scores of major-media sources.
NOTE2/ PROOF is read by the House January 6 Committee, and the House January 6 Committee has been in contact with me this year. So if you want to get a sense of some of the questions that may ultimately be asked of Ginni Thomas, the reports in this thread are a pretty good start.
NOTE3/ Having written more about Ginni Thomas and January 6 than any other historian or journalist, I can say that I have been publicly militating for Thomas to be interviewed by Congress for more than half a year. It’s *major* news that this is in fact now going to come to pass.
PS/ The majority of PROOF’s reports on Thomas’ place in the pantheon of U.S. insurrectionists are free to the public—but as you see above, a few aren’t. PROOF is $5/mo or $50/yr; subscribers gain access to hundreds of exhaustive reports, most on January 6. sethabramson.substack.com
PS2/ If you have any questions about whether PROOF delivers the most comprehensive coverage of January 6 online, I urge you to ask any one of the outlet’s 13,500 full subscribers or 70,000 free subscribers.
PS3/ If you want to read more about the BREAKING NEWS regarding Ginni Thomas, see the recently published CNN report below. cnn.com/2022/09/21/pol…

I wonder how many Trump supporters accept the fact—and it is 100% a fact—that the number of days in lockdown for the United States is 0, has always been 0, and will always be 0
The Trumpists love talking about all the “lockdowns” we had and we literally had not a single one ever
I was watching a YouTube video a few weeks back of a Florida video game collector talking about why sealed video game prices went up during the pandemic and he claimed no fewer than a dozen times in about 5 minutes that it was because of all the “lockdowns” we had here in America
Given that Trump spurred his domestic terror movement in significant part by false claims that America was experiencing forced government “lockdowns,” can you imagine what would’ve actually happened in the United States if there’d been even a single *hour* of government lockdown?
If the prospective defendant here weren’t a congressman, the case would go forward. Anyone who’s ever worked sex-crime cases at the state level can see it. I’m reading about the alleged reasons for not proceeding and none of them would pass muster in cases I’ve seen or worked on.
It’s clearer now than it’s ever been at any time in U.S. history that if you want to commit crimes with impunity in America, the first thing you must do is run for office. Investigators and prosecutors will reliably help you use your position as a shield against accountability.
Go take stock of the powerful men—and it’s almost exclusively powerful men—who’re falsely telling America that politicians are treated worse than average citizens by the criminal justice system. They’re led by Donald Trump and Alan Dershowitz and other friends of Jeffrey Epstein.
Ray Epps is on video on January 6 trying to STOP the attacks on police officers and STOP the attacks on the Capitol. Who says so? The attackers themselves, including one of the arrested Trump supporters. But the MAGA cultists won’t leave this guy alone. nytimes.com/2022/07/13/us/…
Epps was questioned by investigators. He has no FBI ties and the FBI says he has no FBI ties. MAGA insurrectionists concede that while he spoke of entering the Capitol on January 5, on January 6 he didn’t do so, didn’t seek to do so, and tried to dissuade others from doing so.
Any member of the public or member of Congress who is ignoring these known facts about Ray Epps—confirmed by federal investigators *and* January 6 attackers alike—is an insurrectionist, a cultist, an apologist for domestic terrorism, and a sycophant of an orange career criminal.
(🔐) NEW at RETRO: It’s Time to Admit That “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Is a Very Bad Show
This is probably the most exhaustive analysis of this question you’ll come across online. Whether you read it or not, please don’t guess at the argument. retrostack.substack.com/p/its-time-to-…
1/ This show has been the subject of national debate for all the wrong reasons.
2/ This national debate obscures both the bad reasons we are talking about the show in the first place and the bad reasons people are giving for continuing to watch the show and the bad justifications people are giving to excuse just how bad this show is. And it’s very, very bad.
(🔐) NEW at RETRO: The Goodnight Playlist, Vol. 9—The Top 40 Halloween Songs
If you dislike Halloween, you think it’s too early to post this. If you love Halloween as I do—it’s my birthday—you *know* it’s not too early. Hope you’ll subscribe, read and RT! retrostack.substack.com/p/goodnight-pl…
(PS) I should mention that there’s an essay preceding the Top 40 ranking, in which I talk a little bit about personal stuff and then also about what the term “Halloween music” can possibly be thought to mean. I’m confident readers will *love* many of the 48 songs in this article.
(PS2) Obviously with Halloween costumes out—heck, Spirit Halloween opens in August—it’s not too early to think about Halloween. But if you’re like me and love Halloween, *all October* feels “a certain way,” so late September is a good time to start thinking about Halloween music!
(🔐) BREAKING NEWS: DOJ Investigating Ties Between the FBI and the Kremlin Agent Behind 2016 Trump-Russia Collusion; Jared Kushner May Also Be Implicated
1/ I don’t think I’ve ever started a PROOF report with a disclaimer like this one has. I had to clarify that the issues in play here are so complicated they were the subject of 2,500 pages of bestselling nonfiction (with 10,000+ major-media citations). So this is all streamlined.
2/ IOW I’m earnestly trying to make this digestible—summarizing in a few thousand words a story that’s already taken many hundreds of thousands of published words to unpack. The main thing is to underscore why Kushner, Deripaska, the NYC FBI field office, and Brookfield *matter*.
